i have just been looking at this forum recently to check reviews before i booked. now having booked for august i was wondering if you could request a specific room and if so which would be one of the best rooms to request. also there are 3 of us going and we have been given a standard room are these rooms an ok size or are they quite small. do they have a seperate bedroom or are the beds in the one living space. the brochure isn,t very informative reguarding the standard rooms, the travel agent couldn,t tell me if there was a seperate bedroom.
the downside of there being no head waiter is that there is no dress code in the restaurant, and when your dressed up to go out its a little off putting to find yourselves sitting next to someone who.s just managed to put on a pair of shorts and a t shirt. I half expected seeing women topless for lunch but i suppose even us brits have certain standards.
try to find a seat outside if you can, although there is sometimes a problem with flies outside, inside is like butlins
i agree,i prefferred the layout of the outside restaurant but there was the problem of getting bitten. oh to be back in the sunshine instead of up to my ankles in snow!
We stayed in a standard room, and was the same size as the family rooms, the only difference was they were carpeted. I know this, as our friends who we went with stayed in a fam room and it was just on the floor above us, in the same block.
Our room was on the ground floor just along from reception, and throughout our 2 week stay was very quiet and peaceful.
if you look back on this thread there were several discussions about rooms, being noisy etc
There were 4 of us, me hubby and 2 daughters 14 and 8. We had plenty of room, Girls slept in sofa bed area, and there were double sliding doors to separate off our bedroom area.
Any more questions just ask!!
thanks susien just wanted to know if there was enough room what with all the stuff i usually take (everything but the kitchen sink ) there will be me hubby and our 13 year old son (who complaines about everything) did your older daughter find that there was enough for her to do, he,s at that funny age and i don,t want him to be bored. we went to dominican republic last year and he ended up in bed after dinner as there was no entertainment for teenagers at night. i know that previously when we went to spain he was fine but he wasn,t a teenager then so any info would be great.
We went last year with 3 of our children (21, 16, 10) and I have to say they were happy in the day with the pools and we went on a speed boat trip and done some paragliding but in the evenings they were bored. There really wasn't anything much for the teenagers to do. We usually had a few drinks and then went back to the room to play cards.
The entertainment wasn't really up to much I'm afraid but you never know they may have improved it this year (it couldn't be any worse) .
hi littlemisshoney, my son was 12 when we went lat year and he never go bored, in the day he was either in one of the pools or on the beach and in the evening he either went to wavelength kids club where they do a number of different activities or he played cards or chess or draughts or one of the other games i took with us (i always take plenty of games just incase!) we never went back to the room before midnight and even at that time the kids wanted to stay up because they were having so much fun. i'm sure he'll love it. i know you have probably already said but when is it you go?
hi hayley/john we go on the 24 august from glasgow. really lookin forward to going as not been in turkey before. went to the holiday village in the costa del sol the first couple of weeks it was opened in 2003 and we were quite happy with that place so if the pegasos is like that then i will be happy. just wanted to hear from people who have teenagers to ask what they thought as not alot of hotels deal with kids over 11 or 12. since i booked on tuesday i have been trying to convince my son the holiday will be great as there is lots for him to do so thats good info. thank you very much.
Our 14 year old had the best holiday she has ever had. She made lots and lots of friends, as there were so many teenagers her age there.
There was the games room where they spent a lot of their time, they did bowling a few times, and went to the beach party on Thursdays, which is a great night out for all the family.
The laid on entertainment, would probably not be to a teenagers liking though, it is more for the younger ones ie the mini disco, and the shows did not appeal to either of mine. We found the evening entertainment very disappointing, and very uncomfortable to sit in the amphitheatre with people coming and going all the time, walking past you etc.
So my answer would have to be, it depends if they make friends easily!
My daughter on past holidays has struggled to find others of a similar age and has stayed with us, and had a boring time of an evening, as other resorts we have been to have had mainly under 5's there!!
Can anyone tell me about the location of rooms, we have booked a jacuzzi suite at PP but family of ours could only get a family room for 4 people when they booked also at PP is it likely that they will be anywhere near each other or are they in completley different blocks?
Thanks Vicky
was wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to what a tom watch is as i have been looking at pictures and reading reviews and people are mentioning this tom watch and i am a bit confused about what you use it for. not that i am stupid its just that i seen one in a picture that someone put in the photo gallery and it looks like a watch without any numbers or hands.
Little miss honey, Its basically an electronic device that you can charge things to. there is no money used in the hotel so you use this wristband, you put money on it at reception and it is stored in the chip inside the "watch", when you need to pay for something i.e. candy floss or items that are not all inclusive, they swipe the watch and it is deducted from your account.
hi everyone, when we were there in oct there was no need to get a tommy watch as you could pay for everything with cash, either sterling, lira or euro
Does anyone know if there is a laundry in Sarigerme ?
i didn't see a laundry when we were there but that was last september so things could have changed. the prices to get laundry done at the hotel were ridiculous. i took travel wash stuff which came in a tube i think and rinsed the kids things out, they dried in no time on the balcony.
Was wondering if anyone could help with some room information.
We went to the Tropical and had a Jacuzzi Suite in September and had a fab time despite all the reviews leading up to us going. We enjoyed it so much that we booked again in October to return this May to the Tropical.
We had a new invoice yesterday showing a lower price for the holiday. Upon closer inspection we found that the booking was now showing for the Palace in a Select Room. We phoned to find out what was going on and we have been told because people are not booking to go to Turkey at the moment they have decided not to open the Tropical until July.
We asked about transferring and we were told we could have our money back or we could transfer to one of the other Holiday villages. The one in Lanzarote was coming up £500 more for the two weeks. Eclipse offered to pay half towards this as a gesture. On looking at the details for the Palace again as we really dont want to pay out anymore money we looked at the rooms with a kids den and have been told they will let us have one of these at the same price we have paid.
My boy is 2 1/2 and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what the difference between a Select Room and a Kids Den Room is?
Sorry its a bit long winded. We are really disappointed because we had such a great time at the Tropical we were so looking forward to going back. All my little boy keeps saying is he wants to go back to Tweety Club and Follow the leader. For all those who have been i am sure Follow the Leader will start going through your heads as soon as you read this. OOH OOH
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If the Tropical is not opening until July - can we use the pools etc at the Tropical before this time?
Cant remember if there is a spa centre at the Palace as well as the Tropical because if there isnt then the spa wont be available either.
Well thats just ridiculous! I for one booked with the expectation of using the facilities at both hotels, so will be calling first choice tommorow for confirmation.
