The photos that were posted look fab, only wish I was going this year instead of next, hopefully everyone going this summer will post photos etc so I can see more and start getting excited.
I've booked the Aliathon for our holiday and wedding in July 2009 and wanted some more info on the resort. I was a bit worried at first, but the more i have read and seen the photos, the place looks fantastic. Can't wait to find out how the other weddings go. It's really hard to stay calm about things when you've never been and aren't really sure what to expect.
Looking forward to reading more holiday reviews over the next few months.
Thanks mandalay for taking time out to reply, I do appreciate it
Williams bet you can't wait, have you been to any of the HV before.
Just a little nervous about what the weather is going to be like
has anyone else been to cyprus in October and what was there experience with the weather?
Has anyone used the creche at the aliathon? and how did u find it? I am taking my twins who will be 23months old and have pre booked the daytime creche sessions.
I cant wait to go i am excited to hear more from people as they come back from the aliathon.
Joanne
The weather is ideal at that time of year Joanne especially taking young children, you can still sunbathe etc as the teperature is roughly mid 80's We have booked to go next October and like yourself I have been checking out other review sites which haven't really given a good report but this site has been great for up to date information. What type of room have you booked at the Aliathon??
Hello all i have been watching the reports with fascination for the past month or so and can finally stop worrying so much thanks to the pics posted. We fly out on the 20th July for two weeks , i read earlier that the AI stops at twlve the day you fly home ,i think this depends on when you arrive in resort as we rang the operator and were told this . Anyway hope to see some of you out there.
just wondered as some of the shots are taken with 3 diferent cameras and one of them is a 3000-00 camera
new poster no inside pictures and no replys about there time there
either way it looks great but arouses my suspisious nature
Oliday did you decide to cancel your holiday to the Aliathon in the end as I remember you having concerns about it being finished etc? or are you still booked to go?
We are flying out from Newcastle on June 25th this year, my sister is getting married out in Paphos on July 1st. I will make it my business to take more pics to post on here on my return so you can all check out the complex.
We went to the HV Turkey last year and had a fab time so we're really looking forward to this holiday.
Oh, I will be using the creche and the kids club.........couldn't fault either last year at the HV Turkey. Hopefully, it'll be the same standard at the Aliathon.
we changed ours a while back but may look to go to the village next year when things have settled down a bit
main concerns were to do with the resteraunts not being as advertised when we booked so changed to the olympic lagoon near aiya nappa
Has anyone found out yet if there is a gazebo in the grounds and where the weddings will take place? We have asked for the wedding to take place in the grounds and i had thought it would be in the gardens and not outside the wedding chapel. FC are being a bit hazey with the details just now.
I know that i've got till next year, but you just want thing to be right.
The pics posted look amazing and i can't wait to be out there. Also look forward to reading more reviews.
Thanks
Mandalay, I know it probably sounds mad but with the element of doubt on the pictures can I just ask if its how you remember it to be when you went? I realise the kids part wasn't finished at the time you went but do the other pictures reflect how it was when you were there?
here is a picture of the wedding gazeebo from first choices web site
already booked and were seeking reassurance from one another, he has set our minds at rest whether he is an agent, a rep or a tourist - thanks again afilip. I think the third picture, number 645? of afilip's looks to have a gazebo of some kind in it, am I wrong?
Mandalay has already said that the pics look exactly like she remembered. I don't mind who 'afilip' is, the pics are fab and it was lovely to go to the trouble of posting, there is nothing in it for him, we are a forum of people who have 1 AI - we arrived at the resort at 5pm on the Wednesday and the AI stopped at 12 noon the following Wednesday. This was why we felt a bit hard done by not to get lunch.
2 Creche - didn't use it but my son went in to check it out !! All lovely new facilities, toys etc. a separate room with travel cots for babies who nap. All the reps were wonderful.
3 Weddings - didn't see a gazebo but the chapel area did look lovely. The picture 645 shows just a small white ornamental structure that has a light in the middle - not big enough for a ceremony and right by the accomodation blocks so maybe not the most romantic setting !
4 Photos - they do accurately show the main fishing village swimming pool area but I wondered if there were any of the main restaurant / entertainment area / kids playground / high ropes so readers could see the other areas too?
5 I think if anyone is worried about the facilities (especially Weddings), it may be best to contact the Aliathon direct (Tel +357 26964400 Email: info@aliathonvillage.com) The FC customer service people are on the end of a telephone in England and have probably not been out to the HV. We found the people at reception very helpful and there was always nearly a FC rep sitting there to answer questions.
I booked a 1bed room deluxe apartment as prior to booking I called the Aliathon and spoke to one of the FC Managers out there and he told me he would recommend the deluxe option as there bigger which is what I want with having twins!
I also requested at time of booking to be in the new fishing village but this couldnt be confirmed i will just have to wait and see when I get there.
I am really excited and very pleased that aflip took the time to post the photos, i dont care where they got them from its just nice to at last see some photos of the new fishing village as i have searched the web high and low and couldnt find anything anywhere!
I even called the aliathon and requested a brochure which I received but it didn't have photos of the new section.
Joanne
We tried to book a deluxe one bedroom but they didn't have any left so have had to book a Superior one bedroom. I'm sure someone posted earlier that the superior apartments are in both parts of the complex, so will maybe just email directly to hotel before we go to request the new area. The photos that were posted on here have definately lifted a weight off my mind as like you have been searching everywhere to get some up to date info. Really looking forward to it now though, just wish we were going sooner.
