We went to Alykes/Alykanas in the summer and stayed in the Villa Pouliezos (Wendy, it was wonderful at this place, the views from the balcony was amazing). The family was very nice to us. The beaches were lovely, the sea was beautifully warm and shallow. We could swim a long way out. It was more near Alykes than Alykanas but when it was only a short walk to Alykanas.
All the restaurants we ate at were very good. The bars were good (We liked Cheers in particular) I have to say the resorts were quiet with lots of families. I love the idea of going for a walk and stopping for a drink and a swim at a bar. As long as you buy a drink, you can use any of the pools. I think there is one club in Alykes. If you want quiet(there was music in the bars! I'm not that sad!!, relaxing, quiz nights and the like then Alykanas is for you.
I loved where we stayed this year and I would love to go back again next year.

The beach that runs around the bay is Alikes beach. Alikanas beaches are several small coves just to the east of Alikanas, over the hill.....
Glad you liked the Villa - we hope to go back again next year. This year, as there were only two of us, we stayed in a smaller apartment - Zantino, just behind the Picadilly - which I would thoroughly recommend.

Emilysnana, we stayed at Grapevines Apartments(see Hotel Report) back in May. This is perfectly geared up for couples, as all the Apartments are Studios. If interested, Sunstart have got it on their webpage, they are a subsidiary of First Choice who had them this year.
has anybody stayed here, what is it like
One is the http://www.alykanasvillage.gr/

Any other info on the resort and hotel much appreciated, we are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 9yrs and 6yrs.
Lovely beach, we used to walk along the edge of the sea round the bay from Alikes to Alikanes.

Check out my Resort Report under spelling with an,"i" !! That is, Alikanas, I am in no doubt that you will find out most of what you want to know under both spellings - Alikanas or Alykanas.
Hi all. Thinking of going to Alykanas for 2 weeks next year but cant decide which accommodation. Really fancy the Alykanas Village but the price is a bit high Considering the Plessas Palace as well. Has anyone been to Alykanas who could advise on distance from each accommodation. Also whether they think they Alykanas Village is worth the extra £600 quid
http://www.justzante.co.uk for your hotel reviews.
Hi all. Going to the Alykanas Village Apartments. Can anyone recommend a room number (studio) which will have nice balcony, quiet, etc. Thanks in adance.
If it's the Kosmar accomodation you are going to, as long as you arent right next to the bar area, it is all fairly quite, really nice complex, its just a pity the beach isnt up to much.
Hi 7eric7. Yes, it is the Kosmar accommodation. Just thought if anyone had been recently they could recommend a room. If I don't get any response, I'll request a room away from the bar but I don't suppose it stays open too late, does it? Gx
We had a room right by the bar in 2005, it wasnt too bad in all honesty, the kareoke was a bit loud one night, but I think that was mainly because the singing was rubbish.
It's actually the Alykanas Beach where we are staying
Thanks in advance.
