The website that 7eric7 has referred to is indeed the Alykanas Beach Apart-Hotel that I have booked for July this year. Booked with Kosmar Greech 2005 brochure.
In this brochure it is called Alykanas Beach Studio and Apartments but the photos of the pool etc are the same as 7eric7's recommended website.
There is also accommodation called Alykanas Beach Village which is the hotel accommodation very close by, also beach frontage and as far as I know is not in the Kosmar brochure , I think it might be with Direct Holidays.
Hope this helps

we stayed next door last year at the beach village but my daughters friend stayed here and are returning this year which speaks volumes , it looks lovely , a new bar has just opened on the junction of the beach village and bech apartments dillemma , resteraunts we tried last year were dyonissos , mantelena , appolo , psarapoula fish taverna(the lemon tree) theres also la caretta , bars we tried were busters bar , the mill , jesters, if you need any more info there is a web site that gives holiday reviews on everything from apartments to bars & restaurants to beaches etc at
We are paying the due balance of the holiday on Monday - thats when I finally know the holiday is nearing. We are really excited as we have not been abroad for a number of years - last time we went was 2003 and 3 days into the holiday we had to fly home as my Dad died suddenly. Didn't feel like going last year but HEY - were off on our sunny hols again this year and really really feel we need it.
Thanks again

I to am confused i want to go there next june, this is the one i want, dont know if its any good for you to look at but it has a 3 d tour
Checked out the website - it sure looks a lovely place !!!
I think the village is the one next door to where we are staying - but I will check it out for you when we go and report back if thats any use. It looks a lot bigger than the apart-hotel where we are staying.

look forward to your report, wont be able to book till late this year anyway, got to get this years out the way first but really fancy it for next year or the one you are staying at supposed to be a lovely resort
rosie we stayed at the beach village last year the aprtments are lovely as is the rest of the complex , its right on the beach not to far from both alykanas and alykes , if you want to book for the beach village i would reccomend booking early , we left it to late this year , but we found an apartment a little further along the beach
Rosie we booked as soon as the brochures came out last year because we specifically wanted a two bedroomed apartment and we thought they would be popular.
Our friends decided, a short time later, that they fancied joining us and went to the travel agents. All apartments were booked - they tried ever travel company they could think of and attempted to book direct - no chance 'all full at the inn'
So if you fancy these apartments for next year book early. Couldn't you book with a travel company that offers a cheap deposit scheme? Just a thought
Ali
http://www.alykanas-beach.com/ it will show you what the apartments are like hope this helps , when in July are you going?
hi Ali there is also a web site for the beach studios
Just might do that,
Thansk for the web address - it looks a lovely place and we cant wait to go. We are flying from Manchester on 24th July for two weeks. Its a really deserved holiday as we haven't been away or abroad since 2003 when, whilst on holiday, my Dad died on day 3 and we had to travel back through the night. Put me off going away last year but still - can't wait this time round.
When are you travelling ? By the way do you know if there is an ATM cash machine in Alykanas as we are thinking of buying a Cash2go card and then just withdrawing the money as and when needed.
Cheers Jan

Stayed at the apartments two years ago....notice from the website that they have got round to putting the roof on. They are nice apartments on a good stretch of beach...one of the better ones on Zante...quite shallow and child friendly. The Alykanas Beach Village is a couple of hundred yards up the beach - the two places often get confused when being reviewed by people.
We are staying at the Villa Pouliezos which we think is near the Alakanas Beach Hotel/Apts at the end of July with friends. There will be 3 teenagers in our party ages 13-16. Can anyone tell me what the facilities are like for this age group as you can imagine what life can be like when teenagers get bored!
Here's a great forum for anyting Alykes and Alykanas..
Many of the members have been going to these resorts since Zante got it's airport.. great forum but, be careful if you stray onto the laganas forum as its quite lively
Villa Pouliezos message
i'm afraid you need to join or maybe not as some of the members there are here as well so they could well find you. i'll link up to here after i type this..
paul..
As Paul has pointed you in the right direction, I hope you will join us at Alykes.com.
I know you will enjoy your stay at the Villa Pouliezos, and the area is quite safe to let your teenagers loose on their own in the evenings. I expect they will find others of their own age to link up with.
Get back to me if you want to know anything specific, or post it on the Alykes site for a more comprehensive reply.

Many thanks for your replies and advice. I will check out that site. Jan C, I look forward to your post. We don't go until 28th.
Later
Rita
Jan, I bet when you go back again this year the locals will remember you. Everyone seems to recognize the people who have been there before, from Julie in the Mill Bar to Nicos in Whispers.
Have a great holiday.
Wendy
