It must be such a relief when they arrive home safe and sound, I am off to London tomorrow and have got to help my friend who had the stroke do hers

also my son is going for his PIO so we will probably go up to the IHC with him on Friday to (hopefully) get it!! anyone know if the queues are long for PIO as when we got ours it was little heard of and we sailed through but that was some years ago.... also

I might take my friends visa app with me and see if the queues are short in which case she wouldnt need to post it, what do you think? anyone know if i would stand a chance?

VFS Service Charge???

Can anybody give me any advice regarding this new addition of a service charge. According to the Indian High Commission website a service charge of £6.90 + VAT is to be added onto the visa fee. Has anyone else come across this?? Just in the process of completing the forms and need to get the postal order done, but totally confused as to how much the postal order should be for??!!!

Anyone else give me an idea of the time Birmingham are taking to return the visas.Had mine a week, nothing on the website and we are off to Spain on the 20th(or maybe not).

They have had our passports 3 weeks now and it still says on online tracking that we have made an online application on 15th sept. been onto complaints dept who assured me that it would be on online tracking today and changed to "processing" but guess what ?????
it isnt.
oh well maybe tomorrow.
they dont seem to realise the worry it causes

VFS on their website says it takes a minimum of 10 working days, excluding the transit time to the high commisioners. This is utterly ridiculous, it could take a month or so. How do you plan a holiday, at this rate I won't have them back for mid november and our holiday to Goa.

I waited as people were saying they were getting them back within 10 days, so what has gone wrong. Tommorrow I will start to hassle them with emails and complaints, I can't think of anything else to do.

Anyone got any better ideas???

Hi Rockerender, I wouldn't worry too much. If they only received the applications on the 1st, it has only been 6 days including a weekend. I bet you receive them back by the end of next week!

The reason it is now taking longer is because more people are applying for their visas, mine took a week to show up with the online tracking and then for a week it said it was at the consulate. Im sure yours will be back soon
