Discussions regarding holidays in Goa.
It took 2 weeks for ours to be processed from the date of posting to them - posted Tuesday 23 September sent out to us yesterday 7 October. Royal Mail have it down for delivery today but as I am at work obviously I am not going to get them so will have to arrange delivery for Saturday. At least I know our passports are on the way back now.

Royal Mail now say a signature has been obtained for return of ours. My kind neighbour must have signed for it for us as she knows we are worried about the return of our passports. We can breathe a sigh of relief now. Just hope nothing changes with our flights now.

With effect from October 15, 2008 applicants falling under London jurisdiction are requested to send their postal applications to India Visa Application Center, 1-3 Canalside, Uxbridge Road, Hayes, Middlesex, UB4 0JN. This comes up in red writing at the top of the screen after clicking the 'send your application by post' link.

On Indiamike web page theres a guy who seems to be in the know and he said because of the change over of address it will take longer for visas to arrive back . He said for the next 15days it will be a lot slower.

I telephoned the helpline this afternoon,at 90pence a minute. What a waste of time, she was not interested and told me if I wanted my passport back to contact VFS.I asked for their telephone number but said she could not give me it, and I would have to attend in person.
I explained it was a four hour drive away, but no further advice or help.It only cost me a couple of minutes.

I have now emailed them this afternoon, explaining the cicumstances and got an automated reply in rather strange English.Nevermind it said they would reply in 24hours.

Still nothing on the update site.

I was in contact with friends who live in Derby, they applied in person on 23rd September and four days later collected their visas. How did they do it :que

Smudger2 - what kind of response do you have from the complaints department.

I can't I'm afraid. I can tell you though that we do get a lot of guest viewers and we are no.1 in google searches for Goa. Lots of people though do not research on the web first.

smudger,
please read below my earlier mail posted way back on the 2nd of July, I think you will agree, the Fred Karno's quip is slowly surfacing,

I am now on the merry go round awaiting the return of my passport/s but I wont panicking, at least not until the day before we are leaving....jxk8 :yikes
PS: Keep your chin up they are out there somewhere and you "WILL" get them back....jxk8 :tup

Well Fiona just read your post (no surgeries in Glasgow and Dundee) and it looks like there is going to be another fiasco with the issuing of visa's, this may just tip me over the edge to change my holiday plans for Christmas if there are no surgeries.

I know I had a go about them (visa surgeries) last year but if you look back the thing that is most important is that you are in possession (albeit in a fashion when its put on the table to be stamped) of your passport when obtaining you visa and its not floating about in the post.

I don't know if any other HT'ERS have visited the Indian website yet and seen what we are in for, might be jumping the gun a bit but somehow I don't think so when you are dealing with the Indian set ups/organisation's, Fred Karno's springs to mind?

Will be interesting to view the first applications, I await with baited breath and a wish of good luck to "ALL" who will be first to apply for there visa's....jxk8
