no problem with your reply! I would think it was "tit for tat" but as many other countries have to do the same visa application to go to India, it can't. It really is now very difficult for an Indian to get a visa to come to this country, but it easier for those who already have family living here! Some Goans are now trying to get Portugese passports which then makes it very easy to come here.

4 weeks on Wednesday but they went to the embassy on fri acording to
the on-line tracking. :D

from posting date to recieving it back

Just filled in 4 applications on line and will be sending them off tomorrow to the new Hayes address for the London HCI. I was wondering how the London High Commission, Birmingham and Glasgow Consulates compare in terms of turn around times, I see that some people have had a quick turnaround whilst others have been waiting upwards of 3 weeks. Perhaps we should have a league table for each area?

Oh Dear Oh dear!!I have completed my friends visa app for her and sealed the envellope before we left London today as we were staying with her, got home tonight and just went on to check out this online tracking out of interest and discovered you need your passport number!! :yikes just called her and she doesnt know it!!! what to do!! should she break the envellope seal?? and cellotape up now before she sernds it I wonder, or will this be a further problem?? I thought you just needed the web ref number!! :(

I'd do it ... snip it open photocopy or note the passport and reseal?

yes squigs it is in the SPE... I just dont know what to do now and I am feeling responsible... do you all think that wouild really be ok??

well just phoned her and she has done it :yikes heres hoping told her to cellotape it back discreetly... hope it will be ok,, I have adressed it to the Goswell road address too, but think that should be ok as its not the 15th yet :que

My special delivery envelope was free at the post office, only paid when I took it back for posting!
