we also love Cuba. we've been there 3 times, and we are going again in march. we will enjoy the things Cuba has to offer, very good snorkling, music and salsa. the people are very friendly too!!!! AND ITS NO TROUBLE GETTING YOUR VISA'S!!!!!!!
this does sadden me rather, but i don't wish to contribute, to what i think is a political decision, in order to make money for a chosen few.
we in the westcountry have been penalised yet again, must be some sort of blood sport!! no consulates anywhere near us, and no surgeries either.
i rest my case. BOB
I have had an answer from Birmingham
For consular and visa work, this Consulate covers the Midlands region comprising the counties of Cheshire, Cleveland, Cumbria, Derbyshire, Durham, Humberside, Isle of Man, Isle of Sicilly, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Manchester, Merseyside, Midlands (West), Northumberland, Nottinghamshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Tyne & Wear, Warwickshire, Yorkshire (North), Yorkshire (South) and Yorkshire (West).
Devon isn't there though, is it fiona. we're still in the quagmire!!!
This will be my last vist to Goa and had I known about the visa problem wouldn't have booked for Jan 08
Is there any truth in the rumour that visas are only being issued for 3 months?
I can't believe that the powers to be, would jepordise the future of tourism for Goa!!!! the steps they have taken, can ony work against them.
I feel, that eventually they will have to change their minds, and revert to issuing postal applications.
We can only hope BOB
Fiona... I dont know if you can do such a thing... but can you all at H/Ts make some sort of a protest to let the visa people know how we all feel about this whole carry on... and we can all sign our names on it colleen
Pam7, did you get a call back from HCI yet? We live in essex and getting very confused with situation
I have already emailed Birmingham and London with a link to this thread. In fact I even contacted Belfast with the link.
Fiona... I still think some sort of straw poll should be done on here THEN printed off and SENT direct to HCI - London, Birmingham and Edinburgh. I really don't think they will be bothered about going onto a link and read all the comments.
I don't mind doing the printing out...forwarding letter etc etc...although it might have more punch coming from someone directly 'linked' to a Holiday Forum.
I have just phoned Customer Services at Thomas Cook informing them of this decision re visa applications by the HCI. The lady I spoke to said she will inform her managers about it. If in future we all have to deal with the accredited tour companies in order to obtain our visas, companies like Thomas Cook etc., are going to see a big reduction in their own Goa bookings. It will also have an huge inpact on the booking price of our future holidays. We are not just fighting to have postal applications restored, we are fighting for the future of our beloved Goa hols.
Check out the other visa thread on here Fizzy...I've had a reply from Birmingham
