Ideally, as we are all close family, we would like to have interconnecting rooms and are considering junior suites. Can anyone who has good knowledge of the accommodation advise me whether there are any interconnecting rooms and whether the suites are worth paying the extra for or should we settle for 2 double/twin rooms with the extra bed for the younger child.
I know I can get this information from my travel advisor or from the hotel direct but I thought I would get any views from this site first.
Many thanks
Sue
Hi we have booked August 08 with airtours and have same situation as you 2 adults & 3 kids (though 1 is classed as an adult for being 13) so i booked two double rooms, Airtours told me they didnt have connecting rooms but would be next door if requested. My sister in law went last year and the family she was with had a junior suite and the bathroom was different but beds were the same! Can't wait til next year though looks a really good place and comments are good.
Hi going in August 2008 staying in the costa Adeje side. Has anyone been? Are there any bars or restaurants within walking distance?? Any info welcome
I have stayed in this hotel. There is not much close to the hotel in the way of night life but a taxi will take you to where you want in a short space of time and for around five to six euro.
Off to the Bahia soon travelling with airtours. We booked in jan 07 paying extra for a jnr suite with whirlpool bath (its a special occasion) for 2a and 1c. Looking at the airtours site recently I noticed that you cannot seem to get this option anymore and it offers a double/jnr suite with shower (meaning one or the other) at the same price. I have read various reviews commenting on over booking of the suites and am wondering if this is their way of giving you an ordinary room and no compensation. Our booking confirmation clearly states jnr suite but we are getting a little worriedthat this is not what we will get. Has anyone any experience of this and if so what was the outcome-we would like to know.
Thanks.
hi - looking for little advice. going to book a week in either the adeje or tenerfie, we fancied the uprgrade to the junoir suite with whirlpool etc, but if you get a suite in the adeje it doesnt look to be much of a difference between that and standard room - and does the suites at adeje have whirlpools???
However your comment about the Mytravel site changing is very valid - I don't know how many are in your party but the suites and the villas can hold 2 adults and 2 children but since the merger the maximum room occupancy is now 3 and you have to book 2 rooms for 2 adults and 2 children which is VERY expensive. We are going in August in a villa booked before the merger and only have 1 room however villas cannot now be selected at all! We want to go again next Easter but would have to have 2 rooms. I have contacted Mytravel and been into Thomas Cook who have told me that their new contract will only allow 3 maximum! I have argued till blue in the face but they will not budge! When I went into Thomas Cook the girl there did manage to get all 4 of us into a Junior Suite despite the computer telling her it was 3 maximum however their price was astronomical! And of course because I can't get identical rooms on the internet she wouldn't price match! Incidentally the villas are HUGE and even the guy on the phone who had obviously been there admitted that they would easily hold 4 and probably 5!
hi - thanks for info - have got booked, the tenerife isnt on their website (airtours), but they have it in the thomas cook brochure, so managed to book it - only £20 dearer. there is only 2 of us, the guy at airtours argued with me that these were not on same complex but a distance apart, he also said there isnt a hotel called tenerife?? just principe in playa pariaso, so this is what we booked, but we know it is the same one. he also said it was a 3 star, i said websote said 4 and then another said 5, then he went - oh you are right - it is a 4 star!!!!!
hi - has anyone just returned, i have been reading reviews and am confused about the restruarant tickets, some say you can eat in all 5 between the 2 complexes, some said you have to eat where you stay and others say you have to swap 2 tickets for one??!!! i am in the tenerife. and soemthing about if you have a gold band you dont pay at the sprts bar???
we stayed three years ago. The side we stayed in had three restruarant plus the buffet. We went to two of them and on the last night we had booked for the fish restruarant but decided to go to the buffet instead. We found the choice was better there. We did enjoy the Italian tho'. We heard about the two tickets for the restruarants not in your block but we never even went over to have a look around. not too sure of the bands. i think the Adeja side was green and Tenerife side gold
Can anyone give some details on the dress codes for this hotel please? Previous posts have mentioned that there is one but I cannot find details on the hotels web site or in the brochure we booked from
Thanks
The dress code states long trousers must be worn in all restaurants but thats it as far as i know !!
Thanks - better pack some now to be safe!
some men wore dressy shorts or 3/4 length in the buffet restaurants but in the ones that you booked everyone was dressed up..that was when I was there
I was in the Tenerife side in June 2007, as usual the dress code only applies to men which basically means no shorts in any of the restaurants (in the evening), although they will let you wear shorts below the knee or 3/4 length in the buffet restaurant. I wouldn't call jeans/tracksuit bottoms and trainers as being "dressed up" but these seemed all to be OK with the staff, just no shorts for the men. The same no shorts rule didn't seem to apply to the women, so much for equality of the sexes etc !!
thanks
We take a travel kettle wherever we go, but never use fresh milk if there is nowhere cold to keep it. We use powdered milk. Put a spoonful in the cup, mix it with a little cold water before adding the hot water and it won't curdle or break up. Been using it for years with no problems.
There is a shop which I think sells milk. However, coffee comes as part of the 24 hour All-Inclusive deal. Both parts of the complex have self-service coffee machines during the day and the snack bar in the square has self-service hot and cold drinks from midnight until 8a.m.
Would appreciate any advice as we havent been on holiday for quite a few years so really looking forward to this one and don't won't any disappointments.
Thanks.
