Hi Fluff. Closing times can vary on the season. Problems for the hotel this year is that First Choice etc have late arrivals and late departure flights which don't really suit a busy hotel. When we were there a few weeks ago, lots of guests were asking to keep their rooms on due to this but once they were told the price, they declined but it really can be got around.
Unfortunately, a lot of people in the past have paid the Tour Operator direct and still not been able to keep their room on and even if they have, it is not guaranteed to be 'their' room so you have got to pack to leave anyway as they will not confirm anything until 10.00am on the day of departure.

We just forget about that now because at least we know we can leave at 12 have our meal and drinks, laze in the sun and enjoy it until the last minute without worrying about can we or can't we!!

We always keep our flight bag with us that holds our 'valuables' - but usually by the time we leave, we have met people who are more then happy to accommodate us which I hope will happen to you. We would never both leave these bags to go swimming but that is only because I want to be extra safe. We put our swimwear etc in a beach/carrier bag and once we have a shower etc we just open our case - simple as that!

It is a good idea tol hire a safe in your room for the duration of your stay but when you vacate your room by 12, I don't think there is an option but to look after yourself.

Once you are there, you will wonder why you worried about anything as it is really so safe but I understand your concerns because we feel the same when we go to any other other but as we have been to the BP over 20 times, I really can assure you that you will be relaxed and happy. When are you going - we might see you there and we can look after you!!

Probably, this information is only interesting to you and if so, please PM me and I would be more than happy to help!

We had a great time at the BPT back in 2006 and I'm thinking of returning next year.

Only complaint was the lack of sunbeds at busy times (eg Easter) and I wondered whether that was still a problem these days ?

Does anyone know if there is a free cash machine near this hotel? Going to use flexaccount if there is.

Thanks

The nearest one I've used is on the main street in Playa Paraiso... about a ten minute walk from the hotel. Don't know if it's "free", but I think it's a spanish bank such as BBVA or La Caixa.

That said, I tend to just pick up some cash from a machine when we take a trip into Las Americas.

We have booked from 2 -13th Dec 09.

I have read about problems with sunbeds but hopefully it will be quiet and there will be plenty to go around.

We have saved about £150 each by booking over the internet (hotel and flight separately) Monarchhotels is the cheapest (hotel only) and get 5% cash-back through Quidco.

Look forward to seeing you there, bobs. A good time to go as mainly couples who want a good time and a nice build up to Christmas. No problems with sunbeds either!

Thanks

Hi,& Happy New Year
Heading to this hotel on April 2nd and was hoping someone could let me know if Costa Adeje is within walking distance from the hotel or is a taxi/bus the only option. I know it will be a bit of a walk, which I dont mind, but anymore than 45 mins may be too much. First time to Tenerife so any other upto date hints or tips for this area would be greatly appriciated, thanks Dan.

Noticed there's an hotel email address back on page 3 of this post for the Costa Adeje side.
Does anyone have one for the Tenerife side or would it be the same ?
Thanks

Trousers for dinner :think We were at this hotel from 28th December 2009 into Jan 2010 and I took trousers, shirt tie etc for evening dinner since its a 5* hotel and I kinda guessed it would be required esp when they were having a Gala dinner for New Year which BTW was fantastic.
I ask because we return there on 18th June for two weeks and just found out a large group from our home town arrive there on the 25th they asked if trousers etc are a requirement for evening dinner and they asked if those 3/4 length things would pass as trousers, I hope not cos I hate them, they do nothing for anyone who wears them : I work in the construction and I can assure you Im not a snob but I guess I have just offended a lot of people :whoops
Thanks

Well... yes and yes. It is trousers for dinner, and I've seen it pretty strictly enforced, although many men are wearing the 3/4 length trousers and they seem to get away with them in some of the restaurants.

There was a rather large European man last year that came down in shorts for dinner in the Tenerife section main restaurant, and he was turned away. He tried again a day later in one of the a la carte restaurants and was refused again. I think he ended up buying a pair of trousers which he then wore every day.... yuck!

The 3/4 length ones seem to be OK so long as they are well below the knee. I've seen some refused and some allowed in, the key seems to be that they are "almost" trousers! Personally I don't like them either, I think it's good that there is "dressing up" for dinner, it makes it a bit more of an occasion.

That said, what some of the women wear for dinner might be considered "skimpy" by the standards of eastern European hookers, so it's one rule for the men and another for the ladies...

Cheers, and have a great time.

Does anybody know if the hotels email address has changed? We are visiting next friday and I sent an email last week to request a room, using the address I had saved. I have had no reply, when normally they reply within 24 hours. Thanks.

I used the info.adeje@bahia-principe.com about a month ago and didn't get a reply to my request for an upper floor room, however when we arrived that is what we got. Not sure if it was coincidence or not.

I agree with GaryD, it's a 4star+ hotel and guys should wear long trousers to dinner. My wife likes the 3/4 length ones, but I've always thought they look a bit iffy and there's always the problem of what to wear on your feet with them. Inevitably it seems to be trainers, which are also not really dinner attire, though I guess you will be quickest getting to the buffet...

Hi, just been having a read of the comments and am now looking forward to my visit in september even more. Just have some questions. I'm a real sports/sky sports nut. Does the sports bar show sky sports/sky sports news at all? And is it a pay bar or an all inc? What is the quality of the gym like? I really only need the basics like running machine and a few weights. Are the massage treatments good and are they expensive? What sort of tv channels do you get in your room and the tv room? Also if we decide to go out of the hotel is there any trips we can go on such as Loro Parque and were are they bookable from? Oh and 1 more thing does the restaurant consider jeans as long trousers?

thanks in advance Darren

The Sports bar certainly had plenty of TV sports fixtures on each day and was pretty popular. Not sure what actual channel they show though. It has a chalk board outside showing what's on for the day, which was exclusively football whilst we were there over Easter. I'd imagine it will also do F1, cricket etc and the World Cup of course for those that are going in June/July. It is not part of the all-inc, but from what I gather it may be subsidized as someone mentioned the drinks are very reasonably priced.

Can't help on the gym or massage treatments as we've never tried them.

The English TV channel selection is really rubbish, something that was highlighted when we were moved to the Hotel Playa La Arena due to the ash cloud. At the Bahia you get Sky News and Eurosport and that is about it. At the PLA we got BBC1, ITV, BBC3, CBeebies, BBC News and several others, never had such a choice in fact.

Your reps will be very (very) keen to sell you trips, but I would strongly advise you book with Tenerife Sunshine who are very good and way cheaper. As an example Loro Parque pre-booked with TS was 36 Euros whereas First Choice wanted 51 Euros !! Be aware that the journey there is about 2.5 hours because of PDLA pick-ups, though coming back was quicker. LP is an excellent day out though.

Jeans are absolutely fine in the restaurants.

thanks, i'll reserve my place at the bar now! ;) just one more thing is there any bars, shops within say a 20 minute walk?

Has anyone else ventured to the gym/massage areas?

cheers

The main shops/bars are the other side of the resort, but I'd say if you're at the Adeje you can do it in about 25 minutes.
They're not that far as the crow flies, but there's lots of looping in and out due to the coves.

You basically exit the Adeje at the side and walk down the steps into the adjacent cove. Then back up the steps the other side and follow the path round past a dusty bar and up towards the high rise hotels (Fiesta Paraiso I think). Carry on round past the Roca Nivaria, upwards again and you get to the main drag which has some shops and bars. If you've got Google Earth you can see the layout quite clearly.

Add another 10 minutes to the walk if you're staying the Tenerife side.

Thanks.

We've booked with skytravel/cosmos and have taken up the option of shuttle bus, has anyone used the shuttle bus with this company or any other? If so how long did it take to get to the hotel? I'm on a bit of a budget and want to avoid taxi fares if at all possible.

cheers
