Hi I'm stopping at Levante club apartments and just wondered what the beach was like over by these apartments, how much is it for shade and beds. Does it get over crowded over at this bit (i'm going mid-July), If so can anybody recommend a less crowded beach not too far from these apartments.
Thanks
Hi bluesupreme1972 .... Playa Levante is the busiest of Benidorm's beaches, not least in mid-July. Playa Poniente, furthest from you on the opposite side of the Old Town, is considerably quieter. But the quietest and nicest of all three in my opinion is Playa Malpas, which is situated next to the port in the Old Town.
I think when I was there last Summer, Beds were 3euros each and so was a brolly!
Cheers, thanks for that.

it does look busy, but what you have to remember is that the camera is down near the old town where the beach is much narrower. Towards the middle and on up to the far end (miles away from the camera) it is MUCH wider. It is always busy right by the edge of the sea but the crowd usually only extends halfway back to the promenade and then the rest is empty. I've never had a problem getting beds etc, because the Spanish operate a different beach "shift" to us. They are usually coming off for lunch as us daft Brits go down to get burned!
I find the old Spanish dears!!! who pace up and down the beach along the waters edge a bit of a pain, along with my son. (Not him being a pain, he also finds them a pain!! ) I don't know how many times he has been pushed aside, trod on , clashed into and his sand castles been demolished. Don't they have any manners passed the age of 60, or do they not like children. They really annoy me
Think Tom would have got crushed that day

But surely, the Spanish have every right to "pace up and down the beach" if they want to......its Spain afterall? Forgive me but just how do these "old Spanish dears" cause you so much inconvienience? The prom is very wide, surely you can walk around them.....I assume you mean the gropus of elderly spanish who huddle together and stop in the middle of the road chatting? Just walk around them, thats what I do. I am in *their* country afterall.

Nah...this was at the very end of Levante beach, where all the Spanish hang out....and it gets narrow again like the other end.
Like Colin says...they take off around 1 pm and go for lunch, then a siesta, then come back around 4-30/5pm for the final few hours.
I have noticed that you seem to have sections of the beach where they hang out, look at the picture again and you will see that there are no sunbeds for hire......the Spanish don`t pay for sunbeds........
They bring their own.

Sorry, I obviously misread the post, and missed that bit. However, wherever the Spanish are *pacing* surely they have every right to pace to their hearts content. It is
That bit in the photos looks like the illuminated part where the Spanish go to swim at night It always makes me laugh that we go to so much trouble to get some sun and they go to just as much to avoid it.
surely they have every right to pace
Yes BHIC they do, but I havn't put across my point very well.
They get on my nerves because the majority of them are oblivious to other holiday makers , be they english, german, spanish etc. and tend to knock into people without a "bye your leave" and as most of these people they knock into tend to be children, thats abuse in my books.
Rant over
They bring there own
Yes I've noticed that, you see them in there droves of a weekend with their foldawy stripey ones and their stripey bags to match stuffed to the brim with food, and their children never have buckets and spades so they hang around other kids to try and borrow theirs! You gotta laugh, havn't you?
You will be able to see what I am talking about....about the Spanish congregating on certain sections only.....
Look how much room you have near the sunbeds. and then look in the far distance.!
Your gonna need an awful lot of bodies to make the whole beach jammed packed, although I accept it will be busy ......just don`t let anyone get in your personal space.

We'll be down the end by Macdonalds this year so the droves have usually turned around and headed back up the beach, now wheres me water pistol to shoot the wet the beach peddlars.....
:rofl
I usually sunbathe on Levante beach near Hotel Brisa and never have any problems there, I do get down on the beach by 9.30 though!

We first went to Beni at Easter, we sat on the beach on Good Friday and could not belive how many people walked past us on the prom.
We have visited Beni loads of times, Xmas, August,May, each time the prom is as busy.
The bustle I love it. Anywhere else I would be tearing my hair out .

I do too Christine. I love to be in the thick of it all.
Once went to Greece to a place called Policrono....god it was a one horse town, you could have played "high noon" and shot each other from one end of the street/beach to the other....and I had 2 weeks to kill....and kill I nearly did by the second week.!
I`ve been to Benidorm at Xmas, March for my birthday & Easter, Late April/May for my hubbys birthday, June, Sept and November and I have never been lost for something to do or somewhere to go.
The place has always been packed....that speaks volumes as far as I`m concerned.....thousands of people can`t be wrong.!
besos xxx
