Rob.
Will there be another newsletter soon? Seems ages since the last one.
Ray
Yes there should be a newsletter soon... I've started it but never get time to put fingers to keyboard... After I've had my ten mins of catching up I'll start... If things go well, might be one by the end of the week... Lots of news, been keeping busy so will hopefully be interesting...
My apologies... For those who noticed our website was down (I think our web provider changed their server software...) I was a little worried but it all seems to be working fine now... If anyone has any problems then do let us know... The newsletter is still on it's way. We all had a weekend off and went down to Palolim to rest.. Was a very good weekend, Shermina, Myself, Frida, Justine and Kym went... Caught the sun a little too much though... (I have tender shoulders). Also had a tender head on Sunday morning (but for different reasons - hikcup!)...
I didnt get my excess baggage allowance I am travelling BMI and Indian airlines so I suppose its more difficult, I will just have to leave some of my own stuff behind and I wont be able to bring as much as I would have liked.
Has anyone else been unsuccessful
We've got an extra 10kg each but are on charter flights
This is my first post here but I do visit and post on other forums I have been allowed 30kg FOC and will be visiting the Mango house i am flying with My Travel direct to Dambolin asked for written confirmation as i don't want to get to Gatwick with all luggage and then have problems but got confirmation in post yesterday. so thanks to my travel.
JJ
Thankfully I think those lovely people at the airlines are generally giving us extra allowance, it's always a little worrying at the start of each season as we know they're all trying to keep the prices as cheap as possible and we're never sure if they'll stop charity luggage. Thankfully we have a good relationship with all the airlines and they are very generous to our supporters... There are other British charities in Goa that aren't so lucky... The flights via Bombay are a little harder but we have a few who have managed it. So crossed fingers for the rest of the season.....
My partner and I have been granted 20kg between us but I've asked Mel if she can go back to the airline (MyTravel) and ask for 20kg EACH as I know some people have been granted a lot more. We have so much stuff to take out we could probably fill half of the plane! We fly on the 16/12 and got the excess a couple of weeks ago.
Hi All... It seems to have been ages since we've posted any new pictures.... We're lucky to have about 12 volunteers at the moment so I've had a little bit of spare time to get my camera out and take a few photos... It has also been holiday for the children (Diwali/Eid) so we've been doing lots of fn things like taking them to the beach, having parties, games, and sports... I have updated 3 sets of photos, I hope you like them....
We heard this weekend from Mel that MyTravel has granted us an extra 20kgs, so that's 20kg each. Looks like they are still being generous, and long may it last!

Cockerillf, if you have a look at the Children Walking Tall website there is information on there about working with them.
Cockerillf, we are acceptig volunteers for 2007 ( at present ) although we have a lot of people applying so do get in early. The only constratint we have now is that volunteers should volunteer for at least 3 months, due to the fact we're getting so many apply. Hope this helps, like Blondepuff said there's lots of info on our website...
Thanks guys - just had a quick look at the website thanks for the link - at work at the min though so better get some work done! This forum is sooooooo addictive! Will read more later
Just to let everybody know we have put a few new sets of photos up AND I have finally finished the newsletter (sorry it took so long)...
I've been having a real good read of your site Rob, truly inspirational stuff you and your team are doing out there. PM me please with any requests of stuff I can bring out in Feb.
I have received an e-mail from someone in Goa today who said this charity has closed down in Goa as they couldn't get registration for the charity. Can anyone let me know, I was hoping to bring lots out for them end of March.
Rob will be on shortly with the info
Thanks. hope its not all bad news.
oh no, i really hope int not closed, they work so hard for the kids, and the kids really seem to enjoy themselves at the mango house
