We are going on thursday morning and will write a review when we get back. Not to bothered about what people have said as a couple of years ago we read really bad reports about a hotel in tunisia we were going to, it turned out to be one of the best holidays we've had. Going to finish the packing now will write when we get back. :D :D :wave

Hi All,

It's me again!! So sad that I'm on my hols and still keep checking up on this forum he he!

Pleeeassse stop being worried about the hotel... it's fab and for the cheap prices we paid it's definately worth it!

Yes there's a lot of building work around the hotel and I went on a boat trip yesterday and driving through sharm I get the impression it's going on everywhere, we can't hear it!!! All of our rooms face the pool/beach so it's only the back of the hotel where you see the building work going on!

Food is good, I'm a fussy eater and I find plenty to eat! If I dont fancy that I get room service, it costs 3quid for a pizza and they do all sorts of kids meals for 1.80 (sorry there are no pound signs on these keyboards lol)

There are plenty of sunbeds and CHAIRS around the pool. Ok we are getting a bit bored of the entertainment but it's in English and there is some on all the time and 3 english entertainers on for adults and kids during the day! May be because were early twenties, we need things a bit more lively... but hey I'm sure they'll learn and improve in the future|!

I won 460 egyptian pounds on bingo last night he he, so so far excluding the boat trip I have spent 5 english pounds!!! Not bad for nearly a week here!

The bar has got bigger! It's twice the size (where the entertainment is) so there's never a queue to get a beer!

Oh and as for lilos we went for one this morning, shop just on the beach from the hotel!

Will keep thinking of more stuff to report back on, and Jooley, we'll see you here tomorrow evening !! :-)

PS- I'm tempted to book for next year, so cant all be that bad!

Hi Guys,

Firstly, many thanks Shackyl for keeping us updated, your a star matey :thanks !! Whats better ? - going to a resort ''thinking its perfect'' and finding its not or ''going with an open mind'' and being pleasently surprised !! Nothing much has changed since Caveman's early reports and we were all ''excited'' then !! You have to put 'something' into a holiday to get the max out of it. Im sure we will ALL have a fantastic holiday

Regards
Gordon

I am taking my family to the Conrad on 21 July 05. I paid £2200 for a Superior Room with seaview, bathrobes, tea/coffee facilities, blah blah blah. For a family of three, that's £52 per person per day (and some of that price covers flight, hotel room and holiday insurance).
We've got guaranteed sunshine (40+ degrees), beautiful sea and sealife, We're gonna get fed 3 times a day, and get 13 hours of beer-swilling time, (my cousin's husband tells me the local beer is quite palatable, he was there last year). SO...my point. Well, my point is this...the hotel would have to be absolutely crap for me and mine not to have a great time. I can drink & eat, well in excess of £52 worth. Soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, not to mention alcohol, it all adds up. If you don't believe me try a self-catering holiday sometime.
For my part, I can't wait to get out there and if you're out there at the same time, pop over and say "hello". We're always willing to shoot the breeze.

we are a family of 5 and just done your calculations and we are only paying out 46 quid a head per day ( inc insurance with superior rooms ) i think its worth every penny and as i said in a previous post - we have all got a bargain!!

Hi Girls

I'm always the optimist & I'm sure we'll have a great time. As someone said a holiday is what you make it & we haven't been on an AI holiday before so really looking forward to not opening up the wallet often !!!!!!!!

Only 3 days left at work & 8 before we go - marking the days off the calendar. However got my money ready for the excess baggage bill - just bought a huge case !!!!

:) thanks shackle for your report, as others have said the holiday is what you make it, got my reminder for holiday payment ,so we know were going soon, 10 weeks i think, was a bit worried by some reports of sun bed shortage etc but you have put our mind at rest now. glad there are english entertainers during the day, we enjoy joining in with games, and sports etc, not that were sporty. keep reports coming in, and pics can't get enough of them

Hello there people. I am staying at the Conrad SES for 2 weeks from 9th June with my girlfriend. Thank you all for answering pretty much every question I could have asked. And well done Shackyl!
I was reading this site a few days ago, and found some advice regarding visa's at the airport. I believe there are 3 bank style windows you can go to to obtain the relevant stamp. I'm not too good at this wonder web lark, and wondered if anyone here knew what I meant - and where i might find it.
Thank you all for your help!

Hi Wally :wave

I understand that the bank counters are just inside the terminal as you go through to queue for passport control. They will look like post office counters. In exchange for £12 ($15) they give you stamps that look like a postage stamp & you stick them onto an empty page in your passport. Have this page open when you then go through passport control. If you're going with others, get them to join the passport control queue while you go get the stamps. I'm not sure what you mean about Wonder Web - do you mean the stuff that you turn hems up with? Or am I being completely thick :? :hmmm
We go on 2nd June - see you there :glynis

Thanks Mazzy!! I knew I wasn't being crazy.
The wonder web lark is just this computer thing. I could sit for hours and not actually find any information. We're getting so excited. I've actually started counting the hours untill we go - and it's still 13 days away yet.

Hi Mazzy
