Welcome back Alan !

Glad you had a great time-----------Did you meet up with our Swiss friend?

We're off on Monday----------really looking forward to it :tup

Went up and has a nice chat and a snorkel with the big fella. He showed me a nice stingray, but the turtles stayed away.

Then next time I wandered along the beach he'd gone to Cairo (of course!). So that time I had a nice lunch in reception talking to big Willy, cooled off in the pool and headed back down the beach.

On Monday evening I stepped off the transfer coach for a minute to say goodbye as he escorted a young, lone, female guest onto the bus.

We had a great time again this year, gentle diving and nice warm weather. One evening about 6pm I pulled a dive computer out of a bag lying in the shade of a beach brolley and it was registering an air temp of 44 C.

Shame we'll miss you this year, have a lovely time Dor (& co).

Nice photos.

Do you know how much the quad biking costs - and how long do you get?

They went down towards Mazeriq one evening, about two hours there and back.
Not sure of the price - Sherif was organising the trips.

Dive centre have been known to take them too, again to Mazeriq diving. One story told of an erstwhile diver who crashed one into the sea...!

Hi, can't remember the exact cost of the quad bikes, but it was expensive to say the least, at a guess £30 each for a couple of hours.

Everything is about 30-quid each, snorkelling trips, quad bikes (probably - sounds about right), massages...

Hi

You said that many of the shops had new owners - is Victor still with us? Also was Ashraf (reception) still there?- just love him to death! and please tell me that Sayed is still at my second home. Only 5 weeks to go :cheers

I think Victor's emporium has expanded and now includes the beauty parlour next door and henna tatoos; but it wasn't Victor I spoke with, another guy was in the shop that day trying to flog his wares.

Sayed was working the Blue Blue in the old smoking area during the day, but then evenings in the Casa Pesto in it's new guise as a snack bar (fresh cooked pizzas, pastas, chicken shawerma, Alexandrian beef liver, mini burger with cheese, mixed grill, tuna croissant, cheese toastie ...).

Any sign or news of Ahmed coming back to the animation team yet?

Hello! I'm back!!!

Well, its been a busy year (wedding planning, spinal surgery, etc) so no visit to the Coral for Mrs Kosh and I since last September. Even though we are off to the Maldives on honeymoon soon, we're getting withdrawal, so we're planning on our first trip back to Egypt the start of next year...

I haven't heard any complains about the Russians lately, so that's good, but wondered it anyone had been to the hotel around the end of March and could tell us how busy it is, what the weather/sea temperature is like, etc...

And I shall make an effort to drop the Marmite off before the coach ride back to the airport this time ;)

Tickets have arrived :cheers Will soon be home at the coral :sun2

Got back last Tuesday. Had a fantastic time, 16 weeks til we go again. (So 16.5 weeks til Xmas!!).

There is now a 'romantic tent' just at the end of a purpose built candle-lit path near the beach and abo lou lou with a single table & two chairs - bless!!

Staff seemed to be over worked and there did not seem to be enough of them. They all seemed very stressed and not at all happy, may have been because it was so hot.Mostafa went to see specialist reference high blood pressure - he seemed very worried. Kamel went to get his stitches out.

Female General Manager, who is near the end of her career, takes over this month. Fatma also leaves soon, off to get married and then taking a year out.

No Russians, but the day we left they were expecting a large influx of Czechs.

Saw a turtle - so that was a first, also a cuttlefish - very ugly & odd.

Lots of Czechs when we were there in July too. Travelling on packages with a Tui company.

How long has Kamel had stiches? Not since his kidney op, surely?

I'm hearing rumours of changes afoot with Emperor divers...

Andy & Steffi off to run a place in Thailand in October. Chris & Noleen are hoping to be promoted into the vacancy that occurs when Steffi & Andy go - they get married 16 Jan in Vegas - not sure what their plans are if they do not get to fill the vacancy.. Pat the Canadian member of the dive team leaves in next few days - it was not busy enough for him.

No idea about Kamel's stitches, he just said he was going to have them removed.

Any idea who's taking over from Fatma? Ibrahim?
Also, which Mostafa? There's probably only half a dozen of them :rofl
Reply
Ibrahim taking over from Fatma, I believe.
Beach bar Mostafa.
