what date did the people who have changed free of charge book and did they book on the net because first choice said that only people that booked before me are geting a refund because it comes up on the internet that it is a three star
My names Paula and I am going to this complex with my husband and 3 children on 12 July 2006. I choose this place cause its fits everything on our criteria. My kids will be 10, 13 & 13 and will love the waterpark.
We've been to lots of all inclusive and only had one bad one in Lanzarote.
Having been through a nightmare once, I am fully informed of the customers rights. I got a solicitor to handle my case and ended up with £4000 compensation!!!
So here goes, I'm going to cross my fingers and pray that its all built and up and running in time. At least everything will be new and clean (hopefully).
I have booked interconnecting rooms, so the twins can have their own room and give us some peace!
It would be nice to here from anyone going the same time time as us - especially if they have kids of a similar age.
I look forward to hearing from someone who's been there next May - armed with good feedback
FC have mis-described this resort on their webpage from day one.
They still are using photos that were taken at an entirely different location and passing them off as their completed resort, which work has not even started on as yet.
I am sure that they may reconsider if you point this out to them and make reference to the trades descriptions act.

I'm going with my wife and two kids 11&9 on30th June for 2 weeks. Used the water park shown in the brochure pictures a few years ago and it was loads of fun! Got to be optimistic but i will be taking my digcam/vid with me on the offchance that its an H.F.H experience.
I understand that this delay may be in respect of a local legal challenge against the project.

it could also be that they dont start work till the current season is over i think the last flights home were today so i hope it starts soon for all of you going next year
I have been getting alittle worried so the last post has maid me think that hopfully thats what they are waiting for.
My Travel Agent has also told me that if there is any building work going on when we are going to be there they have to notify us and we can move to another hotel before we go.
So fingures Crossed please let me know if you guys hear anything o0r if your going to be there at the same time?
Thanks Soph
logansmum; Do you really want to wait with bated breath from now till your arrival waiting to see if its ready, if its got all its facilities, if there is any building work that they did not consider intrusive enough to tell you about? Are you not supposed to spend the next 9 months looking forward to a hard saved for, well earned break? I know I would not put myself through that , I would hedge my bets and change my holiday.
Objections have reached Government level and it has been reported in the Athenian press that this hotel will not be allowed to be built, on environmental grounds.
I have been reading all the messages on here and decide to contact FC first thing this morning. As we are booked to go to the resort in September 2006 and we are booked to get married in the acharavi town hall. We will have a 2 month and 9 month old baby in own party, so arriving at the resort and having to be moved is out of the question. Was told this morning that the resort will be build by May 2006 and they won't give us our money back. So I called trading standards and they are transfering it to our local trading standards office, which will take 3 working days. Also my mum called watchdog and they said if they get enough people complaining they will investigate. So if lots of us call, maybe we might get an investigation going.
Then there may be a further delay whilst FC decide what to tell those who have booked with them in good faith.
If it is as it seems and this resort is not going to be built I hope that First Choice properly compensate those involved.
Those who booked prior to the August 2005 brochure may have a case under the trades descriptions act as at that time FC were advertising Corfu Aqua Beach Club as being built and were showing photos to back up this claim.
However, we now know that even at this date there has been no construction on this site.
QUOTE:
Situated right on the beach, this newly built property will be completed for summer 2006. Excellent facilities including water slides and splash pools complement the Kids' Club, and there will be a variety of restaurants and leisure activities at this great value complex.
This was taken from FC website 5 minutes ago.
They are still quoting on the website that it is a newly built property

Absolutely jonewman,
Many of us have even regarded FC's recent statements on websites & brochures to be misleading. The more recent ones were less so, and some recent illustrations (but not all) have been labelled as "artists impression" or similar.
However, even as a total layman as regards legal issues I would think that those that have booked should have some kind of redress against this kind of misrepresenation.
Anyone involved may be well advised to have print outs or screen shots of the relevant First Choice webpages, as they may soon be amended or withdrawn.
I am booked for September 8th flying from Glasgow with my fiancee and two daughters one aged 13 and a baby of 18 months. Like jonewman i too am getting married at the town hall through first choice. Up till now i have been happy to see how things progress but reading the latest posts i am now getting very concerned. I phoned First choice this morning and was told all was going to plan and any delays will not affect our party as we are going later in the season. somehow I do not feel in the least bit reassured by this!!
There are also 3 other partys booked for this hotel at this time to join us for our wedding and a few others who are waiting to see what happens.
My major concern is that first choice may leave it to the last minute to let us know and dump us in place with very limited facilities. Therfore leaving us with just accepting this or cancelling our wedding!!
Hi Fionafizz, Why dont you get maried at the Pegasos Palace in Turkey, you acctually get married at the hotel and not a town hall, we saw two weddings their and they where fantastic, if you want to consider this hotel go on to photo galleries and then on to Turkey you then go on Photos of Pegasos Place and you then you can look through all the photos and it will shaw you the Wedding Gabbizzo, please do not take any notice of the early photos of the hotel as the hotel was totally finished when we went on the 29th of August. Good Luck as if was me i would definatly change as the papers in Corfu say theat FC have had the planning permision refused for Corfu Aqualand
I've just phoned 1st choice and the hotel has already been built in Tunisia(modular construction) and will be shipped to Corfu 4 final placement. I asked what their position is if it all goes pete tong between now and July when we go and its a choice of an equivalent resort or a 100% refund so no worries and hope to see you all in in the big pool chilling out next July with a large smile on my face!
They are also fully aware of the archeologically site and have made allowances for it and the hotel will not be built on it.
He was such a helpful man because I have been feeling sick over all these bad comments on here, and gave me not only his full name but a direct dial telephone number should I have any quires or problems with anything before we go.
So to all you worried guys out there I say, have a cracking Christmas and a fab New Year and lets worry about it in April if still no progress has been made and stop listening to other people who may or may not either have there own agenda or just enjoy frightening people!!!!!
