Hi Smokey, nice avatar!
NOW I know what the G & T in the pond was for!
I am prepared to rent out our superior corkscrew - even I can open a bottle of wine with it without have to resort to weird contortions and much swearing! I won't charge you rent but will expect a free cruise in return for my extremely generous offer!

PS Please check your PMs and email!

Great news everyone, Phil is safe and sound! Thank heavens!

Flight took off 1 hour late and at around 2am we dropped 15,000 feet due to turbulence, everyone around me sick. My teeth nearly came through my head; I was the only person to eat breakfast in my section of the plane.

I will send pictures when I down load them, I may not be able to use internet again as I have had to come to Negombo, tomorrow I am off to Galla.

Bye for now, almost forgot - last night we had to evacuate Hotel due to suspect Tsunami
Bye for now

That's marvellous Magsy, I'm sure we have all been concerned for him. If you do contact him please give him my love and best wishes for a safe return.

Magsy - brilliant news re Phil, thanks for telling us!!

Smokey - nice idea - I think some of us are more creative (in terms of thinking capacity) than we may have realized. The picture conjured up by your banana boat is certainly VERY funny - as are so many of the other ideas on this site in recent weeks. It all started with Phil's Balcony Cruise, itself brilliant thinking - my Back Garden Cruise pales into insignificance beside the others.... I'll have to get my thinking cap on :!: :!:

Isn`t that really bad for the fish?

What an adventure Phil has had already! The fright on the flight and then the evacuation of the hotel  . Glad to hear he is safe and well and doing such good work.

Let`s hope that Phil didn`t sober up during the drop in altitude!!

He probably thought he`d fallen off the balcony. :rofl

Cardiff Girl told me about it, she didn't write it, I think!!!!!

Hi Vivien & Aslemma,
I too had problems with my server yesterday. At weekend l installed their internet security, and thought that was the problem, so l rang Tesco today, suggesting this, and the young man l spoke to agreed with me. Shows how much he knew.
I used to be on the 3p per minute before, and 1p after 6pm, and this suited me fine, but after finding H.T., even though l tried to work off line wherever possible, l had a whopping great bill at the end of February, so now l have changed to anytime, which is a fixed rate.
It occured to me that if Tesco had offered this cruise and had been just as tardy with the allocations, then, paradoxically, they could have made more from members of our forum than the D.E. did from selling extra papers.
Just a thought,only a thought.

I too will have a good thought for Phil. He's so cool.

Hi Auntie Joan, I think TescoNet has been playing up for some time as mine keeps cutting out and also often 'can't find the server'. :x It is not their security package in my case as I don't have that, my son set me up with one he likes. When I started I thought their 'daytime' would be enough, but I finished up with a £30 bill last month, mainly due to my sad addiction to HT, which is another reason why I am switching to Tiscali broadband at the end of next month. Although it will be an extra £10 a month, at least it won't go over that.

hi aslemma
I will probably wait till the winter to go back on anytime as I spend a lot of time out in the garden when its nice.

luci I was in the middle of sending you a pm when I was cut off. all I wanted to know was how long the ht car stickers take to arrive as I sent for one about 6 weeks ago. perhaps its gone the same way as another thing I could mention. . sorry if my pm got through and I am repeating myself. also sorry that I am :offtop vivien

Tony W - I didn't say the sky was green, in fact it's mauve with yellow spots and orange stripes.

Sounds familiar

bit of john lennon there me thinks :rofl

Picture yourself in a boat on a river
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes

Cellophane flowers of yellow and green
Towering over your head
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes
and she's gone

Looks like we are all going mad :bhead :bhead :fish

When Phil gets back and catches up, I think he's going to be surprised at what he started. Or was it Juro and her wine tanker who began the madness? Or maybe it was all those posts (back in the dark old days) from whoever kept killing the new postie every time there was nothing in the mail from R***, and burying them under the patio. Whoever started all this off - :thanks - and may your sense of fun continue till you're at least as senile as I am.

By the way, being senile is HUGE fun, you can do and say whatever you like (almost!) and people just put it down to your decreasing brain cell count. :hmmm :rofl :sun :glynis :tup

I've just seen in another thread that someone has, rather than wait until 2006, accepted a trip on Lirica in April sharing a cabin with someone allocated by R***.

I do not wish to make anyone despondent, me included, but are R*** able to 'allocate' a second person in a cabin to those already booked?

I know it goes against the terms of the offer etc, but is there any chance of turning up on the boat and finding someone in with you? :(
