Oh dear Mikey, so sorry that you've only just found us but now you are among friends.
There are a lot still waiting but some of us (me included) have already had cruises and we would all agree that they were well worth waiting for.
You will find forums on here for those who have already been, those confirmed and waiting to sail and those who have still not got anywhere. Have a look at "Daily Expess Cruise - Who's going where and when" and the all the other forums. There are hundreds of pages but just skimming them will give you an idea.
As you probably know Daily Express have now taken over from Rise and are still asking people to be patient so it looks like things have ground to a bit of a standstill again. Just hang on in there and whatever you do don't accept their offer of vouchers.
Like a lot of others I was also allocated a Libya cruise in June. Needless to say it didn't happen and no further communication was received about it. I was lucky in that I have been allocated a cruise in October. Just be persistant and hopefully you will get one soon.
It appears that those still waiting to go next year, if MSC are still the preferred cruise company, may end up in Libya after all!
It also looks as if there is a complete change of itinerary for all the ships.

"For summer 2006, MSC Cruises has confirmed the importance of the MSC Cruise ships visits to the port of Malta.
MSC Opera, from 1 May through to 23 October 2006, will make 26 visits to the island of Malta as it operates its seasonal 7-night cruises from Genoa, calling into Monte Carlo, Valencia, Malta, Tunis and Civitavecchia.
MSC Armonia will dock into Malta's main harbour 18 November, on an 11-night cruise to Croatia, Greece, Egypt and Libya.
MSC Melody will also call into Malta three times, during a series of 11-night cruises from Sicily, Greece, Egypt and Libya. All three ships will bring a grand total of 63,000 passengers to the island."
There is no mention of other destinations at the moment.

I've just had a look and it seems Melody will be doing the same itinerary but slightly later, starting in August. Still Naples, Malta, Tunis, Ibiza and St Tropez.
Just been to the travel agent to sort out the Christmas cruise I booked on board and booked a mini cruise on QE2 sailing next Thursday. It was spur of the moment as I was not feeling well and did not like being on my own. I go to Bilbao, La Rochelle and St Peter Port.
Keep smiling , Phil and have a good cruise, Luci.

Where did you find that information? I've looked at their website and even doing an advanced search only brings up dates to April/May 2006?
Am I missing something? (ok - no comment about brains please!)

The details are on this page:

I didn't know Van had left? He's still sending me e-mails about topic replies......
I must have another look at MSC because last time I looked there was nothing for 2006 at all!
Maureen, which Christmas cruise have you booked and on what ship? Do have a great time on your mini cruise - I am sure it will be just what the doctor ordered!
This is a bleak time since the last cruisers left on 24th July and the next ones go on 29th August!
I am sure the remaining cruisers will have been pleased to see Juro's post about confirmed cruises still being handled by Rise, I could almost hear the group sigh of relief!
I followed your lead into the above site, picked on Mediterranean Treasures, then went to Cruise Dates and Itineraries, picked on Melody and they give them from 22nd August to 24th October on that itinerary. Hope this is a help.

That is the link I've quoted from already!
I wondered where Aslemma found her info about Melody cruises starting in August!
They are not mentioned on MSC website as far as I can see
I also had no idea Van had left but I've caught up now.......
It seems he had to fund the points himself so they've left with him - I hadn't even noticed we no longer received them until yesterday!
Have a lovely mini cruise Maureen - a little break this time of year will set you up for winter! I'm having a weekend in Paris with my daughter in a couple of weeks so that will end the summer nicely too.

Aslemma - Our postings crossed! But on looking at the above, I think this refers to 2005!

Mea Culpa I've just double checked (before I saw your posting Allisu) and they were indeed 2005. My only excuse is that I followed the original link, plus the fact that I'm supposed to be up a stepladder decorating and I'm therefore somewhat distracted.
Thought I might get a late bithday present from the DE as there was a lot of post this morning, mostly junk and the credit card bill. Lost my keys between last night and this morning without leaving the house. Only had one birthday drink so it wasn't that! Must be old age.
Absolute nonsense Maureen, you are in your prime. Happy belated birthday anyway - make the most of the sunshine today.Must be old age.
I have to work from 2till 5 but then I will get an hour in the garden I hope. Sitting not gardening.
never had an e mail for a few days now
still it's getting closer and closer to the cruise only 26 days to go
hope the tickets arrive more than 3 days before as i fly to London on the day before the cruise
happy birthday maureen have a few and remember "your only as old as the man (or woman) you feel"
Mike
I've found that if I don't post for a while I eventually stop receiving notifications until I post again. I'm not sure how long it is before they stop but until I posted last night I hadn't had an email for 2 or 3 weeks.
Anyone know who is looking after the e mail notifications as van has gone???
You should still receive a notification automatically which will still say is coming from Van. If you receive a notification and don't visit the topic, you won't receive another one for that topic until you do visit it.
We have had reports of people not receiving noticifications in the past. Van investigated it and couldn't find a reason unfortunately.

Christmas on the QE2 of course. One of the attractions is the 118 single cabins so you know there will be someone else alone especially as I had the second to last M cabin. Trying to keep up with Myles who was proudly displaying his Cunard Platinum badge when I saw him. This sholuld get me mine!
Thanks for the info on MSC. I would not mind the Melody again but it would probably be quite expensive for one. Has anyone looiked into this?
Happy birthday other Maureen.
Maureen H.
A special Christmas that will be then! Wish I could afford it! Good luck!
