I've only 16 days to lose a stone, extend my legs my 6 inches, gorwn my hair down to my shoulders and become the bronzed goddess that I imagine myself to be on "MY CRUISE" (and " in my dreams"). In reality I'm going to be running around like the proverbial blue whatsitted fly and stuffing my case with frippery that I won't use. That said... I really think those who are without - (not the city walls) but a cruise, should now start putting on the pressure with DE. Rememer those halcyon days when we bombarded the company who names -666- shall not be mentioned and caused all sorts of annoyance -legal and otherwise. Think it's high time to start the old Dunkirk Spirit (apologies for non-Brits but you know what I mean) as everything seems to have slumped into a mass of apathy.If the DE experience half of what the others did then things might start moving for those who are "beached". and awaiting rescue from MSC, Royal Caribbean et al.

I absolutely agree with you Juro and Maureen. It is a disgrace that there have apparently been no new cruises booked for months now. I thought the whole point of the DE taking over the bookings was to actually get things moving and to resolve the situation for those still waiting to travel. I wonder if the DE have taken over the previous New York and flights offer from Rise aswell? I am still waiting to hear from them about that - the call was supposed to come in June!

How right you are Craig at least when R---- was involved we did receive the occasional courtesy call and something in the post even if it was the offer of a non-existent cruise or a gorgeous book of vouchers now we don't even receive those. Do you think the idea is that the ones still waiting will just give up altogether so they will only have to provide a much smaller number of cruises. It does seem strange when almost every day there are advertisments for much reduced cruise offers in the papers, I may have missed it, but as far as I know there have not been storms in the med. disrupting shipping. Why don't the DE charter a cruise ship and get us all sorted in one fell swoop We would have a great time and just think of the reviews Good luck with your free flight I did miss that one which in a way is a relief as I don't think I could cope, I for one will keep fighting. Like others, I am surprised to see that absolutely nothing is happening on the cruise front now that the DE is in charge. When they took over many people felt a sense of relief, but alas, things are certainly no better, and possibly a little worse. When we were dealing with Rise the occasional cruise offer did manage to come our way, but no-one seems to have heard anything recently. As the DE obviously know of this forum one would think, as a matter of self-preservation, they could post here. If they were up-front and let us know what is happening it could save them replying to quite so many individual phone calls and emails (oh sorry, I forgot, they don't often reply do they ) As they don't seem prepared to post on HT, all you can do is keep on bombarding them and refuse to be put off.

Keep plugging away all of you people who still haven't got cruises! The majority of us who were lucky enough to get them, had to fight hard too. The last cruise that was issued on HT was in May and here we are approaching the end of August, over a year after the end of the promotion! It isn't good enough! Keep the pressure on and remember that you have support here on the Forum!

I got my passport back yesterday....HURRAH...my identity hasn't been stolen. Lots of nice new shiny pages in it. Only trouble is, cruising in Europe, we don't get any stamps.

Does anyone who has already been on the Melody had a stamp for Tunisia?

If I remember correctly the customs people came on board in Tunis and did stamp your passport but it was some time ago and I now have a new passport. I hated having so many blank pages as I used to enjoy looking through my old oneand remembering all theplaces that I had been to. I am going to Japan, China including Hong Kong, Cambodia and Thailand at the beginning of December so I will collect plenty of stamps and visas, and I am complaining about not having had my cruise yet shame on me. have a fabulous cruise Jenniel it has been a long time coming Carol R

Hi JennieL, Yes, they do come onboard and stamp your passport, but funnily enough they don't stamp it again when you leave, so if you want to disappear ......... When you enter Tunisia by air they stamp you in and out, and you have a little mini visa, which you don't get at the port, so I hope it doesn't confuse them when I go back. One year I had mislaid the exit part of mine but I told the man I had been there a month and was going home. Next time I went out they looked at their screen and it apparently showed that I hadn't left, which caused some confusion until I realised what had happened and explained

There is a small stamp with arab writing in my "new" passport so I assume it is Tunisia. My old one even had a stamp for Malta but not these days.

I think if the cruiseless keep shouting loud and long enough to all who will listen then the DE may just cave in and charter a ship and a plane or two just for the bad publicity to go away. After all that is what Hoover were forced in to doing to extricate themselves from that infamous promotion (I must have slipped through the net and am still waiting for my free flights!). I hope it doesn't take the threat of mass legal action through the small claims court to get things moving this time.

It'd be interesting to know what the Daily Express had to say about that fiasco. They generally aren't shy to trumpet consumer rights
