Hi
The programme was for Flame TV who make documentries and consumer type programmes for the BBC. This programme is Don't get done get Dom, the presenter is Dominic Littlewood, a little bald head cockney guy.He fronted a series earlier this year, speaking up for people like us who are struggling to be heard. Unfortunately he wasn't fighting my case, it is about a lady age 71 from Bristol who is not a HT member. They really just wanted someone who had had a cruise to say what a fight they had to get it. I did mention HT and so did he so hopefully they will leave that bit in when it's cut. It isn't going to air until spring. I was the only person there with Dom and the crew, then they were giong to Bristol to film the lady. I don't think he has interviewed anyone from DE yet. They hadn't found out what the criteria is we haven't met.
I will keep you informed of anything I hear.
I am watching with interest Wallecan and Pmad1.
I have just seen the TV advert for DE. They could have saved their money and spent it to send a few more of us on our cruises.
Don't get done get Dom is being broadcast all next week on BBC1 (0915-10.00am). Is there any chance that the part featuring raych and the DE cruise will on that series ? Or do we have to wait till next spring ?
I see there is a new series of I think it will be spring, as they asked me not to wear anything Christmassy as it was going out after Christmas.
After looking more at the details of next week's programme it does say the programmes are Christmas specials. So next spring it is.
Everything seems to be very quiet on here at the moment. However for all those with young or not so young children now is the time to prepare for tracking Santa.
Enter NORAD this opens the North American Defence Agency site>click on Norad tracks Santa then follow the links including email to Santa at North Pole.
Hope the children enjoy, Best wishes PIB
Yes quite but not forgotten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as promised here is the latest in the saga re my claim against DE for their failure in the £10 cruise offer.
They have filed an acknowlegement of the claim and are contesting my claim. they have 28 days from the 4 th December to file their defence. I am looking forward to my day in court, if it gets that far and I will be sending out invites to a few interested parties!! Anyone who who would like to attend on the day is more than welcome and I will be posting details of the case times as and when I receive them.
Best wishes to all for the festive season
Pmad1
Thank you for letting us know how things are progressing with your court case. I see on your profile you are from Leicester so do you think your case will be local to you ?? I too live in the county as does my friend who I post details for as well, so you have two very interested parties to support you on the day. As you have 28 days from 4 December, this takes in holiday time over Christmas, what better way to spend a cold December day whilst being off work, keep me posted.
Regards
Kate
Do you know on what grounds they are contesting your claim? Best of luck if you do get to court.
Cheers
Richard
PS if lots of you want a copy then perhaps a stamped jiffy bag to my address would be appreciated
havent posted for a long time, but interested to hear of people getting rejection letters. I last heard from D.E in July '05 and have not contacted them. Are these letters being sent to people who contact the D.E, or just on a random basis to people with claims still outstanding. I never minded waiting, as long as i got something in the end, but they sure aren't going to fob me off. Any advice welcome, is taking court action the only way forward now, or as i have not yet become a reject should i be prepared to wait some more. As this can only end in tears for the D.E
I contacted DE and then within a week received a rejection letter.
I would suggest you contact them as they dont see to be moving things along from their side. If you get the rejection letter then court action is the next logical step as the rejection letter says no further correspondence will be entertained.
In the interim I have some information that may assist those preparing cases or are thinking about doing so. I do not want to post it on this main thread, but if anyone is interested please PM me. (Raych & Redo you already know what it is).
I am thinking that I will write one final letter to the DE over the holidays and I will include copies of all correspondence with them so far. If they then reject my claim I will instigate court action. Any tips?
The case has now been transferred to my local court in the Yorkshire Dales. A long way for them to travel to lose a case
Oh, and keep proof of posting.!!
Many thanks for the update Wallecan, I for one will be following closely your progress. The defence against my case will probably be the same as yours, remains to be seen.I will advise as and when they contact me or the courts. It'll be interesting to see how much alike the defence is.
As you are a little in front of my case It will give me an idea of what to expect.
No doubt others will now be taking the plunge! I've already sent out a few invitations to other interested parties to attend the hearing once the venue and date has been decided including the DE's main rival and certain Media departments. It's time that the DE realised that this issue is not just going to dissapear and lived up to their promise.Folk are fed up with being taken for a ride!!
Best wishes and a Happy Christmas to all for the festive season Guess what's on my list of pressies from Santa! ( besides next weeks six numbers!)

This is getting very interesting. Those of us who have had our cruises just collected and sent off the vouchers by the due date, giving a choice of preferred months. Most of us had our original 'offers' cancelled at a later date but did finally set sail, though not necessarily to our original destination. I am curious to know what term or condition they will say others did not comply with as there simply weren't any, to the best of my knowledge. Best of luck to those going through the courts soon. I do wonder whether the DE will capitulate at the last minute rather than slug it out but I rather think that some of us would prefer it to go the distance after all this time - I know I would
I think the next few weeks will certainly see things moving and hotting up. Now that the DE has put up a defence, if the court case does go ahead and they don't settle out of court at the last moment, a precedent will be created for all to follow. There were no other t and c's that I am aware of other than having the vouchers with them by a given date. In fact each step had to be completed by a given date. Given that those people rejected now have had a cruise allocated in the past would suggest that the t's and c's have been met but we have no way of knowing how the previous organisers may have handled the database. It may have saved a lot of guessing if the DE had included in the rejection letter an outline of the steps completed, with dates, since the start of the application then people would have known whether the database was correct or had been updated wrongly. I presume that this information will come out in the court case. Anyway, good luck in the coming case. I will watch with great interest. Have a Great Christmas everybody and a Good New Year.
