Perhaps some of the singles will be millionaires. They could be travelling in the most expensive cabins. On the other hand, perhaps they get to be millionaires by going on £10 cruises!

Happy Easter all. Bet it rains. Unfortunately, I left my umbrella on a Caribbean island at Christmas as it rained and rained and rained. I think it was St Martens for those of you on a cabby cruise.

MEH, how very up-market. A much better excuse for losing your umbrella than leaving it on a bus like the rest of us peasants do.
Many years ago my husband lost his swimming trunks on Bondi Beach, but he was in the Merchant Navy at the time!

I was just thinking... I try not to. It can be dangerous but anyway..

How is the Daily Express's free DVD player offer going? Anybody got theirs yet? I remember seeing that they have 100,000 to give away and wondered how many would be claimed. After all a Med/Cab cruise for £10 (surely a more generous giveaway than a £30 DVD player) was only claimed by 40,000 of us.

Hi Rene, it's nice to know there's another Rene out there, as i lost an adopted granny of that name recently. It is a very unusual name. Sorry to hear that you'll have such a long wait for your cruise. There seems to have been a little more booking activity of late so fingers crossed you may get to go sooner than you think.

MEH, i am with you on the millionaires. They know a good offer when they see it. There wasn't a parking space near the newsagents not taken by a Ferrari, Bentley or a Porsche round here while the offer was on!

Hi Craig, Nice to see you posting again! We missed you!
I never spotted any fancy cars at our newsagent during the cruise offer!
Perhaps that's because our papers are delivered :rofl

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is there anyone else who has still received absolutely nothing from Rise? They have admitted lots of times that they have my application, and that there's nothing wrong with it. They promise forms, but they never arrive. I have even written to them and the Express, as advised by my local trading standards people who say I can take them to the small claims court. But I'd rather just have a cruise! Any tips?

My papers are also delivered. Perhaps they will deliver the millionaires to us when we board the ship

Hi all,

I'm definitely losing it......have you seen the Warburton bread advert on tv? I've always been convinced I take no notice of adverts, but I just keep noticing what pops out of the toaster.....anyone else spotted it or am I in need of more help than I thought?

I have done a little research........................

Here is an appropriate link for the aforementioned reference:

http://www.warburtons.co.uk/about_warburtons/our_adverts/index.html

.....and here is a little piccy of the downloadable advertisement:

I think I can see the subtle yet poignant relevance!

Oh dear Tony,

Have you been trying to work out all day what I was on about ??? :?

I think you are in need of a holiday :!:
May I suggest a cruise?

Alli :) :) :)
PS - I didn't realise there was a series of these ads - I've only seen the one where the dreaded four letter word emerges from a toaster - that was enough!

No, dear, I got it straight away. That was for the benefit of those who may be one slice short of a toaster.

................hang on, I`ll go research a weblink for that as well!

Morning All

Now that Phil M is temporarily absent from this forum, I thought I'd share my thoughts on the merits of his Balcony Cruise on the Good Intent. It was obviously very popular, oversubscribed in fact, so the entrepreneur in me decided there was money to be made here: hence the setting up of my Back Garden Cruise on the ship Much Better Intent. True, the view may not be quite as good as that from Phil's balcony, so I'm giving cruises away at 50% discount, i.e. £5.

But first I have to install a premium-rate phone line, to ensure I make as much money as possible - I won't take your calls until you've been hanging on for at least 2 hours.

The captain (me) won't be hosting the usual cocktail party, boozing is strictly on a ''bring your own'' basis, glasses for hire at £1 a time.

Once you apply in your thousands, you'll be given details of where to download the on-line application form, and of course I shall require full details of your bank account(s), PIN numbers and all codes in your possession. Does anybody think I'm on to a nice little earner here???? Any suggestions as to how I can make even more cash???????

Forgot to add (and now I'm being serious!!!): MSC cruises may have a much larger British contingent till all DE cruisers have been catered for (I'm really trying hard to be optimistic, as you'll no doubt have noticed!), as the DE/R*** could have got a hefty discount for using them. Italian ships normally cater for Italian passengers, and maybe the new and refurbished Costa and MSC ships mean that there are too many cabins for too few Italians - hence a special deal could have been done. So maybe I was being pessimistic when I posted that we may not be able to talk to many passengers.

Fay, could I upgrade from the basic deckchair to the BBQ view lounger on your Back Garden Cruise  ?

There should be a lot of Brits on board MSC cruises this year, according to the person who fixed my cruise (whose name I'm not allowed to use in case R*** take the thread down!).

He said there'd be around 40% Express singles on some of this summer's cruises, bearing in mind a lot of people on the deal have never seen or posted on this site.

It can be good business sense to take block bookings and fill up well in advance, though I expect that, like Louis, MSC will want to draw a clear distinction between the cruises they provide and the offer which our travel agents are administering.

Would the millionaire forum members mentioned above please PM me to discuss a tempting offer I'm considering - a Grand Slam Millennium cruise down the Taff, with as much Brains beer as you can drink  ?
Reply
Cardiff girl - that's a tough one, as there isn't going to be a BBQ and loungers come at £10 per hour. :rofl :shrug :rofl :shrug :rofl

BBQ
Hang on now, Fay - I'm sure the original promotion said there was a choice of top notch cruises, and wasn't there 'a BBQ for every reader'?

Wasn't there a TV advert that said ' I've never seen a better BBQ offer'? Or maybe I remember it wrong - it was such a long time ago now ...

btw, that's a fair market rate for the loungers - how much if I share one?

Good morning everyone :)

Especially to Tony whose intelligence I did not really doubt for one second!

Fay - I would like to come on your cruise but do I have to share my drink? I do not like the idea of a stranger sharing my glass of vodka and tonic, even for £5. They may have strange habits to which I am not accustomed.

Seriously - there are still vacancies on MSC cruises - http://www.cruise.co.uk are advertising places on Lirica, Armonia and Opera for various dates from April to June -that's as far as I could look - from £449! (Armonia 17/04/05).
Reply
Cardiff girl - ah, but the DE original promotion wasn't in the top-notch publication I, in all my wisdom, chose to advertise in: Suckers Anonymous. I'm too lazy to offer BBQs, food is on a ''bring your own'' basis, just like booze - or did I erroneously forget to mention that?? (See small print for get-outs - or did I forget to include that too?)

Sharing loungers is something I'll have to raise at my next share-holders (pun intended) meeting, both in terms of practicability (i.e. would they collapse under the strain) and costs (supplements for sharing).

Allisu - as for sharing your drink, I think the same answer applies as that given to Cardiff girl (see previous paragraph).

Something else will appear in the small print: applications dealt with strictly on a ''richest come first served'' basis, so non-billionaires are likely to be affected by the small print and all those get-out clauses I shall devise to thwart the peasants.

Happy dreaming..........
