I have already bought the exact same one from e-bay and it is very accurate have checked it with the digital scales out of my bathroom. A essential piece of holiday equipment I think.

We flew in from Dalaman late last night, and while they were charging those with excess baggage it tended to be those who were some considerable kilos over, for those who were just a little bit over, they werent making any charge. Although this did vary between the check in staff, with one charging all of the time, with the others not bothering, a fair few people were changing queues to avoid the one in particular lol, we flew out with 36kg and flew back home with 40.1kg, and did bring a fair bit back, was dreading the weight when we checked in, but thankfully it was all ok, but abit worried especially seeing those in front of us be charged for 8 kilos, but as they said, their Turkish Delight isnt so delightful now!

We flew back from Dalaman yesterday. With information on this site we took food and drinks with us to the airport. I wanted a cigarette so went up stairs to an area where you could smoke we decided to have a coffee £6.80 for 2 mugs of weak coffee :yikes Wont go there again what a rip off.

:D We got back 4th June we were delayed 4 and half hrs my young grand daughter was hungry because we had gone through passport control and into departure's we were told 5 minutes before boarding we couldnt fly at that time.

I paid £6 for a milky way and a small pkt crisps for her and £6 for a tub off pringles.

You just dont expect to be delayed we did take drinks etc with us but after 3 hours delay there were gone.

For every one who is travelling back from Dalaman in near future be prepared take extra food and drink more than you would normally as prices are a rip off.

Last year i got charged £36 fot a KFC meal and 2 kiddies KFC meal's this year i was prepared but not prepared for a delay.

Next time i will take a lot more into Dalaman to be safe :D

Did you really pay £6 for a tub of Pringles?!

What did they charge you in Lira?

Don't think I'm doubting you - I just find that hard to believe.

Strawberry, £6 will not be far wrong. My first (and last) purchase in Dalaman airport was two small bottles of coke and a tube of pringles and I was charged 30 YTL

Were going in 4 weeks time and i dont intend paying for over priced foods from the airport, seems to be getting dearer as you read different peoples experience. Thanks for the tip about being delayed,so its ok to take food/drinks through then. Will probable get some sandwiches sorted the day we come home 8)

We came back on 28 May. Didn't intend to buy anything at Dalaman Airport but we were so thirsty - got 2 cans of fizzy orange and were charged 14 YTL, about £6 :yikes

Check in was really quick though, didn't see anyone getting charged for excess baggage (we made sure we were well under-weight) We were half an hour delayed getting away from Dalaman but landed more or less on time at Stansted.

:D Yes Strawberry it is true

We paid in english money my young grand daughter was hungry and thristy so i had no choice but to pay it.

We got back on Tuesday eveining from Dalaman.

KFC, Burger King and McDonalds meals are all around the 21 YTL mark and most of the other coffee bars etc upstairs were closed when we were at the airport at around 2-4pm in the afternoon.

I think the airport has improved a lot since the last time we were there (Around a year and a half ago). We had no problems all the way through check-in and found it a very clean and very well run airport.

There were only 2 scheduled departures at the time we left mind you so it may get a lot busier during the night.

I agree with the prices for drinks, i payed £15 for a coffee, can of pop and a tub of pringles.

But on the other side our cases were over by 5 kg and we were not charged extra so what i paid for food and drinks i got back through extra weight

Can anyone explain why all the prices in Duty Free are in Euros, some people were finding it every confusing having only pounds and lira in your purse.
Reply
there is a scanner in the duty free shops scan it pick the currency and you will see it in either lira or sterling the idea of euros is them hoping but it wont be for a long time yet and of course they make a little bit more on the exchange rate from euro to either sterling or lira

Hi just returned through dalaman this morning 3 check-in for thomas cook my daughter and myself were under weight but lucky to be in middle check-in couple in front of us only had 15kgs each the lady on the checkin never checked ticket or weight they got through with 47kgs and had only paid for 30kgs at the other to check-ins they were being charged for being 1 kg over so it does just depend on who you get and what mood they are in

That is exactly right. My son worked at Heathrow and he said it does not matter were you are in the queue it all depends on the particular person that you get and the mood they are in. Unless you work for Ryanair then they can be dismissed for not charging. I think it's made travelling very difficult now but it all down to money as is everything else.
