The picture from Helen's link also appears in this page with a little more detail. http://www.easyjet.com/en/planning/baggage.html
Easyjets rules are still slightly better than others, but now quite mind boggling. Under their system you can buy extra weight (within the same number of bags) or buy extra bags with no increase in weight - must be a nightmare for checkin staff.
Your numbers mean that for each of 7 of the people you have bought 20kg weight / 1 bag handling. The words of the bigger link show that you can still pool weight, which is something other airlines don't allow. Your 140kg can be spread around the 7 bags as you hoped but remember that no bag can ever be more than 32kg under any version of the rules. Your confirmation email should show baggage allowance on the right hand side and presumably says "7 Checked bags per flight between all passengers combined up to a total combined weight of 140kg" - the important word being combined.
Cheers
like I said, upping weight and upping number of bags are not the same. Read the rules and costs carefully before clicking anything.
"I am sorry that you have been disappointed with the service received when travelling with easyJet recently and I can understand your frustration.
As you know, easyJet must rely on the departure gates assigned by the airport in question and sometimes a bus will be required to transport passengers to the aircraft. When passengers are bussed to the aircraft we are unable to guarantee that Speedy Boarders will be first off the bus. Where the use of buses is frequent on a route, this is reflected in the price paid for Speedy Boarding.
Moreover, Speedy Boarding guarantees that you will be among the first called to board your flight and not that your will be boarding the plane as first passengers".
I therefore replied back saying I was paying for a service and I was not getting the service I had paid extra for. I also quoted their website info re speedy boarding which reads:
Beat the Queues with Speedy Boarding
Speedy Boarding: Be among the first to board the plane
* Choose your favourite seat
* Make sure you're sitting with family and friends
* Use our dedicated Speedy Boarding check-in desks (where available)
Well nice surprise this morning to get an email back advising they will refund the £18 speedy boarding. It definitely pays to complain!!
Good result, not just the refund but also the speed of the response from Easyjet. I seem to remember BA not being as helpful when you complained to them.
£126 for an extra 9kg!! maybe I won't bother lol
Just looked at my booking conformation that ive printed out and ive put my 15 year old son down as a mr rather than a child will this matter or should i contact them.
I am no expert put couldn't Mr also mean Master,I entered my wife as Miss with Easy Jet and did'nt have a problem, I am sure your Son's passport is in order, it is only a very small error. but by all means tell them if you are not comfortable.
Got a e-mail this morning saying doesnt matter if he was put down as a adult but for piece of mind they have changed him to child for me to print out feel much better now its been done.
Another last minute question... just noticed on the easyjet site that there is a link to print your boarding passes. I believe you just need your passports to check in, whats the purpose of the boarding pass link? should I just print them anyways?
Robo20 wrote:whats the purpose of the boarding pass link?
For those that have checked-in online and need to print their boarding pass.
Darren
Cheers Dazbo, is there any advantage checking in online or are we just as well doing that at the airport?
It depends if you're checking luggage in or not. If yes, then there's no real advantage as you have to check the luggage in anyway. If hand luggage only, it's far easier to check-in online as you can check-in and print your boarding card at home then just go straight to the boarding gate when you get to the airport.
Darren
Thanks again, got plenty luggage so we'll just do it at Newcastle.
Robo20....have you got SB? If so you might find it's beneficial to print off your boarding passes as they have dedicated check-in so you shouldn't have all the check-in queues.
Just be aware if you do have SB, NOT ALL airports that Easyjet use, have dedicated check-in desks for Speedy Boarders.
and where they do have them it can work against you, last month at Budapest the queue for Bag Drop was taking much longer than the ordinary checkin furthest away. they were doing 3 flights at the same time, had 3 ordinary checkins but only 1 bag drop - given the number of SB's these days that was a recipe for chaos.
Flying from Newcastle without SB. We are a group of 3 families of 5, so if we are at the gate early enough it won't be easy to push past us lol
Does anyone know if the cabin sized Sub Zero G fit into the EasyJet metal frames at check-in. Measured mine and it seems to be within restrictions altho' the carry handle I feel may take it over ever so slightly.....just wondered if anyone had used theirs or whether I need a run down to the airport to check it properly before we fly! Thanks in advance!
