I was using a teaspoon handle the other week to move some table lights.
You should always make sure the socket switch is in the "OFF" position before attempting this procedure.

i can't remember the type of plugs that are used in cyprus can someone let me know- thanks in advance
most of the places you are likely to go use English 3 pin types, just the same....

Lets's face it the Cypriots are very LIGHT hearted people
Can anyone help me, i am visiting cyprus for the first time in late june and i have heard that in cyprus you use the same three pin plug for their sockets, is this true, as we only have the usual 2 pin plugs for the rest of europe.
Thanks

Yes - Cyprus uses the 3 pin system. UK plugs work fine there
this question is asked about 3/4 times a year.. NOT all hotels have British 3 pin sockets those aimed at our continental cousins often have euro 2 pin and earth..dispite what many will say.. over the years i have been in 3 such properties in 8 visits so i carry the adaptor anyway
Going to Nissi Beach on Wednesday (first timers !). I have heard that I do not need a plug adaptor for anything electrical as the sockets are the same as here in England, is that true ???. Left it late to ask, I know,
this question comes up 2 or 3 times a year, some will tell you that ALL plugs in Cyprus are of the British 3 pin type, however from experience i can tell you if the hotel is primarily aimed at British clients then it will most likely be 3 pin, if it is aimed at the European market it will more often than not have the euro 2 pin and earth system, and just to confuse the matter more i stayed in a newish apart hotel this year and it had a mixture of both, as we always carry adaptors to fit almost anywhere it doesn't bother us

Ive been told i dont need them, but would like to check this out as i have never been to Cyprus before, Usually Spain.
Looking forward so much to my holiday this year.
In 99% of cases in holiday apartments and hotels the answers no as they have the same 3 pin sockets as the UK. However it has been mentioned before that some older properties do have old style plugs and you would need an adaptor. To be honest in all my trips to Cyprus I've yet to come across an old type socket so never take an adaptor.
This info above is correct...you should not need adapters, some older hotels have the old style two pin plugs, but you can buy an adapter for this just about anywhere should you need one..
Thanks
