Same plugs as the UK.

Depending on your hotel you might have to pay for a kettle. In the hotel i stayed in i think it was £1.25 per day

Paul the plugs are the same as ours. Don't know about a kettle in the

room though. You can get small travel kettles in any good electrical

store if necessary.

  Pay to use a kettle? I thought things like kettles and toasters, etc, were common place in SC accomodation? Weve never had to pay for them, they have always been provided. Very suprised! :o

Even the 4/5 star hotels don't supply a kettle as standard.......I've been told in places all over the world that it's a very British thing to expect a facilities tray in the rooms  .........apparently

But of course if you are going self catering there should deffo be one there......well in Cyprus anyway, but not in all SC accom as I've found everything from a milk pan to a small metal jug that both have to be heated on the cooker

Just got back from Imperial Beach hotel Paphos, kettle etc all supplied in the room. Stayed @ Arsinoe hotel Limmasol last year, no kettle etc, suggest you e mail the hotel and make a request.

I think I have read on this forum that you do not need plug adaptors in Cyprus as they take the same 3 pin as us, is this true? I can not for the life of me find the discussion!

many of the ex-pats who have had homes built with uk 3 pin likewise many hotels aimed at British holiday makers also predominantly have uk 3 pin HOWEVER i have been several time to various hotels at lest 3 of them i remember had euro 2pin and earth caught out once never again so we always carry a multi adaptor they are cheap and weigh nothing

Not strictly correct I am afraid Brian.

ALL new buildings are 3 pin - not just the ones aimed at Brits. The Cypriot Electricity regulations are almost identical to the UK.

The only time I have seen the two-pinners in Cyprus was at an older apartments, but even then they had adaptors in all of the sockets...and that one is long since closed down.

I wouldn't bother taking adapters - they are cheap and easy to find if you do need them...but I would be very surprised if you do.

strictly true pup dog,, i have been going to cyprus one or two times a year for the last few years, addaptors have not been supplied, i tend to use hotels aimed at non brits most of those have had euro sockets, the places i used in Pafos were mainly for brits one was all 3 pin another was mixed

That must have been an old hotel Wizard, our house is nine years old and the daughters a lot older we all have UK type sockets and power supply, you can buy new appliances with American two pin plugs on, in fact I bought a heater this week for the winter with this kind of plug, I soon replaced with a normal three pin plug as you use in the UK..

If you should end up with a two pin socket I would also be surprised, but as posted adapter plugs are cheap and easy to find in all kiosk's and supermarkets..

thats it, socket to them...

I saw this information somewhere, but can't now!!
Can anyone tell me if i need adaptor (two pin two three pin) for my two pin mosquito plugs.

sure i read somewhere that it is three pin in Cyprus and my two pin plugs wont fit.

where do iget one if needed as all my adaptors change the other way--three pin plugs to two pin sockets (e.g. for hairdryer in Spain etc )

god too many threes and twos there.

What you need is a Razor Adaptor. Available at any good electrical shop.
