Hi next weekend were flying were lufthansa to Berlin from Newcastle by flying to Dusseldorf with Lurthansa's subsidery airline "Eurowings" and then connecting on with a lufthansa flight to berlin. When we booked we had a hour to connect onto the flight (only taking handluggage so though we would be ok). But now our lflight from Newcastle has been put back by 25mins and we only have 35mins to connect onto the flight in Dusseldof! Lufthansa's policy is 30 min minimum for flight connections and they said just get off the plane quickly!!! Any tips to get across? It would be helpful if I knew which gates/map of the terminal so I know where I am going?
Have checked Lufthansa's website and there are flights from Dusseldorf to Berlin every 1.5 hours so if we miss it fingers crossed we will just get bumped onto the next flight?!
Any help/advice/reassurance would be most welcomed!
Wear trainers and not shoes so you can run!! 35 minutes is not a lot of time to transfer on to a connecting flight, even only with hand luggage. If you do miss the flight, I'm sure they'll transfer you on to the next one, providing there are spare seats.

Do I need to go through passport control or I will we do that once we get to Berlin?
You'll have to pass through transit to get to the departure lounge. Follow the signs when you get off the aircraft. I'm not familiar with the airports you mention, but procedures are the same. You'll have to pass through a security checkpoint where you'll need your passport on onward boarding card.

Having used Lufthansa many times they are very good in connecting information (am sure eurowings will be the same).
As Darren indicated, if you do not make the connection - you willbe allocated seats on next available flight -and there are many between Dusseldorf and Berlin if I remember correctly.

Since the UK never joined the Schengen agreement on border controls you will have to go through proper immigration (which will probably involve scanning your passport) at Dusseldorf before going through to the Berlin flight. Because of this there has to be some seperation of gate areas, if the airport's own map would load for me I might be able to say for certain, try http://www.dus-int.de/dus_en/lageplaene yourself and see if you have more luck. Hopefully they have a desk in the transfer corridor and don't check everyone at one point before the split between transfers and baggage reclaim.
The Newcastle flights seem to use gates in the A90's section, Berlin are in A70's and A80's so you are at least in the same terminal!
