We flew to Goa last year on a thursday direct from Manchester using Thomas Cook flying Monarch and this year we are flying on Thursday 8th Feb (YIPEE!) with MY TRAVEL - no mention of a stop-over on paperwork or tickets. Fingers crossed. :hyper :hyper

Government Air Tax ~ comes into force on Feb 1, just received an extra invoice from Olympic holidays for an extra £20 per person. Anyone else been charged yet? We fly on Feb 10.

No but i'm waiting for it i'm sure it will be here soon we fly out march.

We fly out 4 Feb so think we might be ok. does it start 6th or 7th Feb? Will affect our holiday in April tho
Reply
Think it starts with effect from 1st Feb but it depends when you booked as to whether you will charged extra.

We only booked recently and they were aware of the change in supplement and charged us when we booked. They told me that anyone who booked prior to 1st December when the change was announced would be sent a letter requesting them to pay the extra.

Just need to wait and see what happens then Dogfish, :? but they are leaving it a bit late cos we fly out on sunday (on your flight!). This particular Goan holiday we booked about last March or April dont know if that matters or not.

be prepared to pay it at the airport Gemma- unless Monarch are absorbing it- which I doubt. For further discussion on this please use the thread on the flights forum.

We are flying with Monarch on 10th Feb. Had to pay £20 each on top of the cost of holiday, at least they have sent me proof of this that I can show at the airport if they try and get it out of us there!!
