I have contacted the TTA (Travel Trust Association)and they have told me to deal direct with them???? and send all relevant paperwork etc - wonder what this means

Hi Lion,

Is it getting sorted? More to the point it looks as though the flights are booked and look on the bright side this time in 10 days you and Mrs Lion will be there!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way I've never heard of Ezy,Are they a company you book flights with? We've done DIY before but only to Majorca and Tunisia and then did it with Easyjet and Thomson flights but booked accom. with Alpharooms.
On a lighter note I've seen a picture of Swiss,God he's so different from what I imagined ,I expected him to be a sort of younger version of Don Estelle[The one from that It aain't half hot Mum!!!!!!!!!] Bet he loves that!!!!!!!!!

Serious though Lion it must be really stressfull but it looks as though things are getting sorted.

Have Ezy actually tried to cancel your flight? Is everbody who has a booking with Ezy being advised to contact the Travel Trust Association direct so they can ascertain whether the holiday can be honoured? We are supposedly booked for a Saturday flight so that wouldn't be Longwoods, but if the seats haven't been booked there is no way we would ge on a flight for the Saturday of half term. Feeling very annoyed. Was really looking forward to this holiday.

I think it was just the 2/10 that was a problem and it was only the flight that couldnt be honoured, but I urge anyone who has booked through EZY to get some clarification.

They book flights with the airline and then the hotel through a travel co or directly to the hotel itself.

even though I have confirmation of the new dates I still am not going to hold my breath

Also tickets are now picked up at the airport which I abso` hate doing

I will update should I hear any further news.

Hi Wightlion, why are you picking your tickets up at the airport, surely two weeks is long enough to get them by post. If I was you, I would telephone customer services at the airline and tell them the situation, they would have your booking and name as I have telephoned Thomson before over booking certain meals. Might be worth emailing the hotel as well to check your reservation - I have email address and contact if you need it.

I would check with your airline too. When I telephoned Longwood yesterday, they had four seats left on the 23rd but were quoting around £600 for a week the Coral Hilton. They did not have my name, nor does the hotel have my name on their reservation list

Check your invoice, mine says agents acting for Longwood.
I think your flight is Libra, Panorama or Peltours - got a feeling its an Excel flight, so you could check with them.

I wonder just how many more people are going to be affected by this - hardly Ezy is it!

My invoice doesn't even say which agent they are acting for, but the flight number quoted would suggest it is an Astreus flight so I am going to get in touch with them. My sisiter in law works for them so I may have a word withe her too. The flight is my main concern as I know the last two times we went the Coral wasn't fully booked, but I'm not very good at dealing with uncertainty. This holiday is also supposed to be a bit of a treat for may daughter before she has an eye operation in Novemeber so she will be really disappointed if it does not go ahead.

Anyway have to start work now but will let you know how I get on.

It might be a good idea to check the hotel to see if the reservation has been made. Mine wasnt.

Have Ezy travel been able to give you any explanation - I haven't spoke to them yet so would like to be prepared.

I havent actually spoken to Ezy. Just Longwood and TTA, I feel that Ezy would probably give me the waffle and I wouldnt get anywhere. It sounds terrible, but Im waiting to see the fate of Wightlion

Hi all, update time.

Spoke to a lady @ TTA today.

Ezy have defaulted on their membership with the TTA.

TTA have asked for all documentation to be faxed through to them
as the TTA are trying to honour the holidays booked and as a priority are dealing with all customers intending to fly within 2 weeks (me included).

In my case she is going to try and honour the original date of 2nd Oct and she doubts very much if Ezy can honour the 29th Sept like they gave me as an option yesterday.

I have emailed ezy twice but have recd no reply as yet, strange that eh !

If the TTA cant honour these holidays then a full refund will be made.
I will have to wait util next week to find the outcome.

'Lion have you looked at the Ezy website ? that might give you an idea why you havn't heard from them, I'm surprised you got through yesterday

I have just been onto the Trip Advisor site and there are postings there you might want to read about Ezy Travel.
I have contacted the hotel by email to ask if they have a reservation for us, but I fear the outcome will be a big no.

Helene - Thanks for the info, but not sure if I have found the right post. I have also been in touch with Lucy at Travel Trust and recieved the same information as everyone else- I was also told not to bother contacting Ezy at all. I would think that even if the Hilton haven't received bookings for us both (which seems likely) they will probably still have rooms available - the big difficulty is going to be flights. Good luck anyway, and if we do make it there we must up for a celebratory drink (or two).

I have to say I am not too optimistic, and the girls are extremely disappointed at the thought of not going, but I'm relieved to know that my money will be refunded if they can't honour the holiday. Will have to chalk this one up to experience - should have researched more thoroughly, but hey, hindsight is a wonderful thing! I am grateful to this forum though, as I would have been blissfully unaware that there was a problem at all. At least I have had the chance to try to do something about it. :roll:

Still hoping you will be on that flight on the 2nd - would think you stand a better chance than me as you are not travelling during a school holiday. Does mean that you might have to double up on rations of the black gold if we are not able to bring back-up supplies at the end of October. Good luck!

I have just had confirmation email from Coral Hilton that I do not have a reservation for the 23rd October. They also said there had been many emails asking the same question, with the same answer.

I doubt very much that we will be able to go now. Longwood told me last week they have four seats left on the Monday 23rd flight, and they didnt know whether they would put another plane on. I just wish we could just assess how many disappointed people there are then maybe it would persuade Longwood to put another plane on. We will have to keep our eyes open.
