Hi people flying out tomorrow on what was? FCA640 but had a letter today to say it will now be a TUI flight do you know if this changes the plane flight numbers from what Darren originally posted back in Aug/Sept?
Many thanks!
It's the same flight / aircraft (B757-200, G-CPEV last week)). The flight numbers are being changed from FCA to TOM as part of the merger. Flights are now being operated under TOM's air operators certificate rather than FCA's, hence the change in flight prefix's and the sad loss of the callsign 'Jetset' to the more boring 'Thomson'. Your flight numbers may change although they are still under FCA640/1 on my screen. You still check-in at the same Thomsonfly desks so it shouldn't alter anything for you. Did the letter not include flight numbers? It's a bit pointless informing you unless they include the details of the changes!
Darren
No it didn't some i'm hoping there the same!! Thanks for your help again!
Thanks for the response Dazbo
We're flying tomorrow and my g/f has noticed that it says that the check in times advised are the LATEST times that you can be accepted for travel.
Im sure this is not the case and they're just encouraging people to get there early but if someone can confirm it that would be great. We were planning on arriving about 2.30 hours before the flight is due to leave.
We have premier seats booked if this makes any difference.
Thanks
Ben
The recommended check-in time is at least 2 hours prior to your flight departure. Pre-booked and premium passengers can leave it until 90 minutes before but given the long queues at securty in some airports, that's pushing it a bit. Check-in desks close about an hour before the flight is due to depart. You'll be fine at -2.5 hours.
Have a great time,
Darren
Thanks a lot!
Do we check in at a First Choice desk or a Thompsons desk now they have merged?
last week at man i checked in on a thomson desk
Thank you, I would have spent hours waiting for a First choice desk to open up!
First Choice and Thomson are in the process of merging and all flights now check-in at the Thomsonfly desks. You won't actually find any First Choice Desks at airports now, not the start of the year!
Darren
Thanks Darren for your replies its answered some questions I was just about to ask.
Whats going to happen with the IFE on longhaul flights? I have only ever flown FC longhaul and am used to their 'skytime' but will Thomsons IFE be used now? We are thinking of flying with FC/Thomson to Cozumel in September 2009.
after reading this thread and a couple of others i was hoping that someone could help with a few questions i have
We are flying out for the ocean village cruise ship on december 10th from birmingham to aruba. flight numbers are TOM413/TOM414, we have upgraded to premium. Does anyone know what aircraft this will be thomson or firstchoice and what are the differences between the two? Also we are taking our daughter who is 4 and would like to know what is available to keep her occupied (do they provide activity packs or should i prepare one beforehand) and where are the TV screens as she would not be able to see ones in the aisles...
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Many thanks
You will be flying on a Boeing 767-304ER, I am not certian if it will be a Thomsonfly or first choice one at the moment.
The only real differences are that the seating is 2-4-2 on Thomsonfly and 2-3-2 on First Choice.
In Premium they are both 2-3-2 Seating
TV Screens are located in the back of the headrests of the chairs in front of you, so will be easy to watch, they include movies, tv shows and games to keep children occupied for the journey.
Hope This Is Of Some Help To You, If You Have Any More Questions, Do Not Hesitate To Ask

It will be a Thomsonfly 767 so 2-4-2 in economy and 2-3-2 in Premium depending on where your sat.

To be honest, "skytime" is just a brand or a name for their onboard IFE and irrelavent to the actual content.
Thomson seem to have adapted First Choice's movie selections without the skytime branding on its aircraft. However you have more to worry about if the combined airline does adopt the Skytime branding rather than Thomsonfly, as they have more entertainment choices, better TV selections wider music/radio choice and all games come free of charge where as IIRC 2-3 games are included in the upgrade/premier selection costing £5.00 or only available to premier customers.
Hi any updates on the latest movies on offer for fc/tom longhaul,
As I say every month
Question was not aimed at you in any way shape or form so dont persume your the only one allowed to answer enquires,
