Most companies have a similar policy about insurance - It has always seemed like good customer service to me - insurance is strongly reccomended.
They usually ask when you book - and I simply say I will get my own - they note this in their records so if something happened out there and didn't have insu to cover it I couldn't blame the TO.
yes i know what you mean, i only swapped to the dom rep hv 3 weeks ago due to the issues at the club caleta.
i checked with various websites to get enough info as possible from other forams eg(debbies dominican).
we like the corfu aqua beach with f/c but they didnt even have planning i beleive for this hotel.
i am hoping it goes ok and will be waiting for the reveiws when it opens in dec.

Booked our holiday in April this year for April 2007. Just heard from FC today that flight times have changed! We are going to Malta. We get there at midnight instead of midday and return at 3am instead of 3pm. Has anybody else been notified of this? We are going for my daughter's wedding with about 20 relations so the timing is important. Is it possible they will be changed again?
Can any one help. We are travelling with FC on the 13th August. Today whilst at work my son took a courtesy call from First Choice but since I was not here they stated they would call back later. They have not called. Can anyone reassure me, is this normal for them to call!
i would ring put your mind at rest.
Thats the annoying thing, the offices are shut after 6pm (customer services). Still I will try the general number.
i would or i would be awake all night. it will be on the system anyway.
Thanks for the advice Seeds, I have tried to phone them but the calls are off a high volume and then I got cut off. I could scream.
normally these courtesy calls are to see if you want any toppings, car parking etc etc. Nothing to panic about at all. They would write as well if it was important.
Have spoken to them does not appear to be any problem, looking forward to Sunday week now. Once again HT members are a sensible wise lot. Many thanks
have a great time
we have been charged £50 for 2 adult and 2 kids meals!!!!!!!!!
£10 per child and £15 per adult, we are only going to turkey.
does anyone know why the price has gone up so much?
Dont worry, the price has basically been taken out of the flight price and put seperatly so you would have been paying this much before.
You can always still opt out. I agree £50 is an awful lot to pay for a short flight. You might be better off sorting out snacks to take with you and save the money to spend there.
i will keep it on, as it breaks the flight up, and coming home turkey airport is soooooo expensive i might need the meal coming back!
can anybody give me any info? 8 of us are going to mexico on oct 15th with first choice but now 1 may have to cancel. will they get any money back at all or will they lose the lot? at the moment it is 66 days before we go.
The person who may have to cancel will have insurance so depending on the reason for cancellation the tour operator will refund a percentage of the holiday cost, and the insurance company will refund the difference less the insurance excess charge if applicable.
Up 57 days it is just the total deposit that is lost, after that it changes depending on the number of days prior to departure.
If you scroll down THIS page until the IF You Cancel section you will find the full information and also the relevent cancellation dates.

People think its cheaper to book on the Internet or direct with a tour operator when in fact we agents normally match (or in my case better) the Internet prices.
Then on the next breath they start moaning and complaining when they cant get through to the dedicated call centre to help them then end up going to their local travel agent to see if they can help and expect them to do it for free.
Like our man who had a courtesey call from First Choice - if you had booked through an agent, chances are you would have got through to them straight away and they could have put your mind at rest.
So come on guys - stuff the internet, stuff direct booking, have a haggle with your local agent and get the customer service you deserve - and keep us guys in a job.
There ...... had my rant for the day - I feel so much better, now im off to bed - good night!

Flying out to Majorca with F.C. 16th September - haven't yet received tickets . Booked through the co-op travel agency - should I contact the agent or first choice or should I give it another week or so?
Sorry to say but we would never book through a TO again. We had too much grief and hassle in the past with them, plus many charge over the odds. My son booked through a TO for his holiday which he is on at present and it cost him over £400 s.c., after checking out the prices DIY he could have saved himself over £100. We bought a timeshare 15 years ago so all we have to do is phone our resort directly and tell them what dates we want, book our own flights and check that the annual travel insurance is up to date. If we should ever encounter any problems (which we have not since booking ourselves) then we would have no one to blame but ourselves.
Sorry but TO's just don't do it for me.
Regards Jackie
