Yes, I know its along way off but does anyone know when FC will have these holidays on sale?
Oct half term falls somewhere in here and we want to try and get an early deal!

22 to 26 oct this year. Did you mean next year because the holidays for this years oct half term went on sale in april/may for all of the major tour ops.

Our half term is 29 oct - 2 nov this year and we booked about ayear ago. Next year (winter 08/09) half term for us is late again and most of the summer flights stop middle of Oct.

Thats in london but some boroughs are different but not many.

Next winter (08/09) should go on sale round about the time this winter's season starts, so the beginning of November. In the past I've booked two winter holidays with FC/Eclipse, and I got the brochures both times in the first week of November the previous year, if you know what I mean...

most of the summer flights stop middle of Oct

Flights usually change their schedules from summer to winter in the last week of October, but the winter brochures usually sell holidays departing 1st Nov onwards. If your half-term next year starts in the last week of October (ie. your departure date will be before 1st Nov) then you may be able to book now from the Summer 08 brochures, depending on where you want to fly to.

Called into our nearest holiday hypermarket(just happened to be passing) and the 08/09 holidays should be available early nov.

Doesn't seem to be any flights for Egypt at the moment for those dates with FC, but there are flights to the Canaries for that weekend still available on the Summer '08 schedule.

Looks like it will be Lanza again. We don't mind but have been there about 16 times already. Anyway the weather is always good!

Or you could wait another 6-8 weeks for the Winter 08/09 brochures to come out, I'm sure there'll be new flights for Egypt in there. Although Lanza is very nice....

I have only had one experience of using First Choice, booked flights only to Fuerteventure for next March, 4 adults, 2 children and baby flying from Newcastle which is a 25 minute drive away for us, paid for tickets immediately. Then 2 months later return from holiday to find a letter from First Choice stating that they had changed our booking to now leave from Manchester, which was totally unacceptable especially with small children and the return flight did not land until midnight at Manchester. Within a few weeks manage to get a refund of all money paid and luckily still able to get seats on same Newcastle flight with Thomas Cook.
So I am now very wary of using First choice, infact my husband told them we would never use them again !
However I have been pricing a holiday in Rhodes and First Choice are quite a bit cheaper than Thomsons, but just worried that they may change the holiday a few months down the line.
Do First Choice make a habit of doing this especially when they are using other airlines are have we just been very unlucky ?
Do First Choice ever have discount codes when booking online, as our last two holiday with Thomsons I have been able to get the price down using these !

I think you've just been unlucky on this occasion. With the FCA/TOM merger, fleet re-assignment and streamlining has been going on which may explain the flight changes. It's still not acceptable after you've booked and paid for your flights that far in advance. I use FCA regularly for flights in europe and to the caribbean and have never had a problem. In my opinion, they are the No1 long haul charter operator at the moment. I wouldn't let what happened put you off using them or TOM again, you were just unlucky.

As for discount codes, I've never seen one for FCA!

First Choice has merged with thomson and there is going to be changes.

Airtours have merged with thomas cook and there are complaints on the complaints where flights have been changed

I was surprised to hear that first choice is cheaper than thomsons they are normally the most expensive now. Have you looked at other tours op to see if they do the same hotel.

And don't forget to check out the hotel review section on here and other sights.

i.d. "can't think of a username" Not only were First Choice cheaper, they were offering half board against Thomsons Bed & Breakfast - so the price difference adding half board to Thomsons was greater again !

If Thomsons and First Choice have merged I cannot see the flight altering as airline used is Thomsonfly and they only have one flight a week to Rhodes from Newcastle.

Now that First Choice have merged with TUI they will know longer be using any flights from Glasgow to Kos. Thompson (TUI) stopped flying from Glasgow to Kos about three or four yeras ago.
Just thought this info. might be useful to some.
