As well as that you ,ight want to consider a private rental in the Paralimni/Kaparris area plenty of rentals on the Cyprus Eastern board.
I will try the link for karas when i find it.
Hey Ady might see you there in February, mind you Phil is running out of holidays , I can't keep away We have been 3 times this year already going back September then November.

Small and very friendly

Maybe you will recognise it from your last visit to Kaparris
Elizabeth
Eli on the webb site it says open all the year round and everyone who has used it last year said it was very good.
Thanks to you both. I think I recognise the Kratas (will check the web site). Is it 'Captain' Kratas if so I used the pool there, it was only about 250 yds from the apartment. I have also looked at the private lets and have found one that sounds good in Kapparis so I may contact them. Looks like November is on for me, just need to persuade my boss to give me some holidays (have just taken 10 weeks so he may not be too keen)!!
Oops got a bit carried away, have read the postings properly now and got the spelling right! It is the same place and the price is good so all I need now are the holidays.
As for closing the Pafos resort stays open all year except the bars and eating places that are being renovated, it is not like A/Napp Limassol is another that never closes for the winter, why well people live there all year! not just for the summer season.
It is Captain Karas. As Jim said the Paphos area does stay open, but I think you will be pleasantly suprised to find more and more places are staying open each year through the winter season in the Paralimni /Kaparris area.
This area has now become mainly residential and therefore the bar owners and cashing in and who can blame them
Lots of people have bought property in this area and use it all the year round.
By the way Karas had a big firework display and buffet leat year on November 5th,, As it's my birthday on the 6th and we will be in Cyprus we will probably be there is there is another this year.
Zenios in Summer Lovers always has a Hallowen party and buffet , His pub looks lovely with all the huge lanterns on the road outside.

To start I am not a "girlie", but my wife & I have just come back from Coral Bay. I hope the following info will help you have an even better time than you are going to have.
All the taverns & restaurants welcome children, in fact it can be an advantage. The Cypriots love children, they will accomodate the most fussy of eaters, just ask.
I can recommend all the eating places, especially El Faro. You won't mistake the place as it has a giant golden statue astride the entrance. George is the owner and always remembers us when go back.
There is only one beach & it does get crowded, so get there early.
The Cypriots are very friendly. They are charming to you girls without being a pest, but they do enjoy a bit of fun with you e.g. if it's your birthday or wedding anniversary you will be serenaded, and the whole place will be encouraged celebrate with you. A bit embarrasing but not in a cringing way.
Coach trips to Nicossia & THe Troodos mountains are well worth the C£12. Have a great time I know you will.
Thankyou so much for your review, glad you had a nice time.
It sounds fantastic, so many people say once you have been To Cyprus you want to go back which is great!
It sounds perfect and i can't wait to go!
As for the beach we had same experience in Lanzarote as we got there at lunch time lol maybe we will get there for 9am
Thanks again,
Will post up my review when i get home end of August.

Also try Fegari (first left turn along the Coral Bay 'strip') especially on Fridays which is their barbecue night.
Both are popular with families and you also see locals eating there which is always a good sign!!
Other places on the main road are fine although a little more pricey, catering more for the tourists.
A mile or so past Coral Bay, heading towards Agios Georgios, you'll find Georges Ranch, where you can go horse riding, and you might like to visit Snake George's to see the snakes and spiders......or maybe not??
There's also a go cart track, again just past Coral Bay.
You can get a bus into Pafos itself for 70 cents each way. The market is well worth a visit as is the water park. Alternatively there's the area around Pafos harbour with the fort and just inland there are the ongoing excavations of various houses, mosaics and of course the Odeon ampitheatre.

Almost forgot......
Anyone know if you can catch a bus from pahos to coral bay, if so how long it take?
One goes via the market in Pafos and the other goes via the harbour - usually they have a board on the front telling you which, or you can ask the driver.
The fare is 70 cents each way and there's a regular service.
The trip takes around 15-20 minutes
Dave
wicked thanks, i take it that it's definitely worth the travel?
Will definately go to that restaurant you mentioned
Do the bars and restaurants get totally packed out in August? If so what would be the best time to go before they all fill up,
Cheers
Kels
If you have a look at my webpage, I have lots of restaurant reviews and a page on things to do and see whilst in Coral Bay. You'll have a fantastic time!!!

It's also worthwhile seeking out the bird sanctuary, which is about 10 mins from Coral Bay. Take a left at the junction on the main road and follow the signs. Probably best to go early morning, or late afternoon, as there is little cover once you start walking round.
Most restaurants in the CB area, in my experience, fill up around 8.30pm, but generally you should be able to get into most places at any time if there is just the three of you. I have two boys aged 9 & 6 who are itching to get back (we go on Wednesday) to CB, as they love it. As most of the previous posts have advised the Cypriots love having children in their restaurants, and always take the time to talk to them. Most tourist places have kids menus, but these are limited to your standard chicken nuggets, burgers etc. It is worthwhile trying a meze, as there will certainly be something for all of you to eat.
Have agreat time.
Mike
Nice website Jim that rope swing looks great fun do many people gather there or is it fairly quiet in the day,
Thankyou to everyone who has posted you've all been a great help!!!
Jim
Lanzarote was hot last year but only 35' but it was a different kind of heat to what we get, not so dry and humid.
(Until we had the sand storm of course)
Kels
is it going to be unbearable on the beach, i am going between july 29 and august 12th. Thes beach would prob be hard to get comfortable due to high amount of people??
