Thanks for reply Jamie; we are going on 25th July for 2 weeks = from Gatwick. We are 2 adults and have our 13 year old son with us. He has been enrolled at the soccer school. He did it at the HV Turkey last year and loved it.

When we were there in 2004, our daughter (then 17) was with us and she enjoyed being able to do her own thing and being safe. I am sure our son will be the same. Do they still have the playstations/psp's in the Wavelength club?

We found last time that we was better to wait about 45 minutes at dinnertime before going down as the queue had died down a bit by then. Like you, be interested to see how the new system worked.

Wasn't aware that there was a trampoline there so not disappointed by that!!!

Did you have to wear long trousers for the evening meal? Last time, they were adamant about it but then related when too many blokes were coming in wearing cut downs etc.

Have requested the Paraiso block again as it was much quieter than the Oasis.

Yes, they still have the Playstation 2, not sure about PSP's though, read my detailed post above about kids club, paraiso is definately quieter but i found it not as maintained as the oasis block.

The Portillo busses stop right outside the Holiday Village.Cheaper than a taxi.Fuengirola and Benalmadena about 10 minutes in either direction.

Yes very handy the buses, I still got the bus timetable :) about 1euros 20 per person

Bus times service M120

They run from 7am until 11.30pm every day of the week

Just ask first choice at reception for a timetable, I would post the times on here but their are so many
and they dont give times to HW. I only got ones from HW to the towns they are roughly every 25-30mins from HW

Also Buses from Fuengirola, Torremolinos, and Benalmadena run every 30 minutes

If you want to go Benalmadena and Torremolinos get the M-120 on the Beach Club side of HW
and buses M-120 to Fuengirola on the HW side

Beware these buses can get very busy and a few times you may have to stand!!

many thanks for that its great to no we dont have to really on taxis, and the kids see going on a bus as an adventure. :cheers

Just a note. If travelling back from say Torremolinos centro, esp in summer months, make sure you get ticket/s at kiosk before bus arrives, as most times the driver will direct you off to buy one.By that time your bus could have left.

Hi, Just booked this for next year, and was wondering if the main resorts are in walking distance of the HV?

Thanks,
Emma

hello, well i am replying to this from holiday world. And it depends on how far you mean by a walk? 5 miles to each resorts, we found a nice village called torreblanca its about 2 and a half miles towards fuengirola, with shops on sea front and a nice english fish and chip shop for when you get fed up with the food at HV. We are due home tomorrow and will say that HV has done better than my previous stays as in maintenance and sorting any slight problems out will add more when home

I am going on the 17th May and looking forward to it. If some one has just got back, please can you let me know what the weather is like? Is it warm enough in the evening to wear strappy dresses and t-shirts? Also in the brochure it says that beach towels are available, are they free to use? or shall we take our own? Thanks - hope you had a fab time. :cheers

Just got back from the Holiday world and had a fab time - 2 weeks. Weather was very changeable, sunny in the morning and they cloudy and windy in the afternoon, we had a few very hot days, a little rain - very strange weather.

The cost of the rings is 5 euros for the day with 15 deposit - my kids had one each during the holiday, but you can only use in the wave pool and on the 2 slides - the waves are only every few hours and close at 4.00 - so they didnt use much during the day (thought a bit of a waste). Hotel was clean and well presented, the evening entertainment was naff. We loved the 2 restuarants especailly the mexican - brilliant. The choice of food in the buffet wasn't bad - one of my sons only eats chicken, and they didn't do chicken that often - maybe 3 times in the week. You have to hire the remote control for the tv to work - 10 euros deposit - and if you want towels for the pool - they are 15 euros deposit each - if you use the craze golf that is 15 euros deposit for EACH club use. Lots of deposits to shell out for.

There are 2 markets to visit, Thursday Torremolinos - Saturday Benamadena - Tuesday Fuengirola. We walked to the Fuenigirola market, took a while, but worth it, we couldnt get the bus back - they were all full, so we walked back too! We went to the Zoo in Fuengirola - that was a lovely small zoo (created by the people that created Disney Animal Kingdom) and we went to the Crocodile park in Torromolino - the boys enjoyed that too.

Costa Del Sol is very windy - apparently years ago it was called "The Coast of the Wind", and they then changed it too "The Coast of the Sun", and more people went to visit!!!

We loved the place - and would go again in a few years time.
