Spurry , just read your report and glad you liked it , we go for the first time on 27th dec for 2 weeks and i think you have put our mind at rest as there were a couple of reports that slated the hotel and everything that goes with it. :tup

Me again :)
Spurry, in your review you mentioned that you got extra things with being a returning guest..sorry if a silly question but how do they know you are? (just we will be you see)

Also, you mentioned you liked your room, was it a standard room? and were you on ground level? We have booked this, this time as we had a swim up last time and it will be too cold for that when we go. Therefore ideally id like overlooking quiet pool too.

thank you :)

We were there in late Feb this year not new year but from what i have found out there is a marque on the beach new year (but i may be wrong :)

Can anyone reccomend a good block (or even block number) for standard rooms please?
We were in the jaquzzi rooms last time near beach but only opting for standard this time as were impressed with them.

thanks in advance :)

They ask you if it is your first time at the HV?, expecting you to say yes..when you tell them you have been before they check on the computer to verify and then give you a different colour wristband and ask you to come back to reception later or tomorrow where they will have an envelope for you with vouchers in to obtain a few freebies...they told me that each time you return they give you a bit extra and after 10 yrs you will own the hotel :rofl

we booked a standard room as we did last year..but this years was a lot bigger and much nicer, we were overlooking the quiet pool in block 10 , i'm sure (although i can't swear on it) that we were told that we had been given a better room as a returning guest...if i get the same room next year i'll be more than happy...Block 10 is attached to the main building with the balcony overlooking the quiet pool, if i were you i would request that block before you go..we were not on ground level but on 1st floor(room 10.223) which was great because it was on the same level as the main reception bar , so it was easy to walk along and get our early evening wines :tup

We were here for Xmas and new year last year. They built an enourmous tent on the beach and dinner and entertainment was in their all New Years eve. The rest of the village was not open. The food was fabulous, entertainment was ok. It was a lovely evening, they went to a lot of effort.

We are going back in two weeks time and come home 2 days before Xmas. I must say we loved spending both Xmas and New Year there last year-we were spoilt rotten!

Hi we have booked a holiday to first choices red sea holiday village in Sharm in May 2010. We are finding conflicting information regarding the location of this hotel. Does anyone know the location/address/neighbouring hotels etc.....oh and if you have any thing to say about the hotel please do tell!

Thanks,

Faye.

HI angie, thanks for that but that website is actually giving the wrong location....it comes up as an undeveloped building site lol....looking back through this thread we have found enough clues to reach the correct location lol!

If anyone would like to know the exact location is Nabq Bay between Laguna Vista and The Tropicana Grand Azur.

We cant wait!

Still would love to hear from anyone else with younger children who have been or any one who has stayed in the kids den rooms!

Oh and if anyone knows "Snorklebabe" from previous posts she says hi (she is my mum)!

Faye,We stayed in a kids den in block 6 and it was fabulous.
This block overlooks the shallow end of the main pool and has a lovely view of the sea.
Request an upper floor as the ground floor patios are open to the gardens and children can wander off!
We were previously in the ground floor kids den room in block 10 and it opened to the gardens and quiet pool(which was very noisy when we were there!) The kids den in this room had no window and had green netting on the ceiling which made the room very claustrophobic!
The kids den in block 6 was lovely and had a window high up in the wall adjoining the main bedroom,so was very light.
