Hi Pennyc If i remember correctly we were given tickets in an envelope on our arrival with our keys, room number etc... to eat once a week in each of the al a carte reataurants, so you can decide for yourself which, if any ,you'd like to pay for if you want to go again. We went for the 2nd time to the Holiday Village last year and as a treat for coming back they give you all sorts of extras !!! In fact we hardly ate in the main restaurant except for brekkie as we were given lots of extra tickets for the al a carte restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed them all but each to their own as they say.At least you get to try them out for free. Drinks are payable in the al a cartes and we also gave tips as you are waited on and they are all ever so nice. You will recognise some of the waiters from elsewhere around the hotel .They work such long hours and work so hard and still keep a smile on their face, bless them.
There are also a number of restaurants just outside the hotel including a nice Chinese and apparently TGI Friday's has opened since we've been out there as well as loads in Naama Bay.You can get a bus from the hotel and back for £1 each way, just book at reception.

Hi pennyc,
For whoever asked about a Feb stay and jumpers, I guess it depends how much you are outside at night. The entertainment has been moved to the Pharoahs louge wihich is very warm but if you sat at the table downstairs and outside you will probable need a jumper for the evenings. I took one but didn't wear it at all as we chose to sit inside the sports bar mosts nights.
just to confirm drinks are not payable in the al a carte restaurants - as long as you order by the glass. only bottles of wines are chargeable. we prefered the chinese and had my husbands birthday dinner there. the indian was good as well. We weren't keen of the med restaurant.
What is all inclusive then if you have to pay what you drink from the mini bar and pay for food in the À la carte restaurants.
You don't have to pay for food in the al a carte restaurants !. The Chinese, indian and mediterrean are all inclusive (aside from a couple of dishes which have surcharges to them), but simply don't order those ones and you won't pay anything. The only place where you will pay anthing additional is the seafood restaurant and even here, your drinks, starters and desserts are all included, you just choose your fish, it is weighed and you pay by weight. But even that is very reasonable I heard (we didn't visit).
Thanks for that
There are no age restrictions for children in the swim up rooms. I have just emailed the hotel and they have confirmed this.
Hi I have to say that unless things have altered since last June regarding the al a carte restaurants you needed to book your reservations asap to ensure that you were able to be catered for as they were in great demand.
We have booked a junior suite but have emailed the hotel after reading the previous posts to see if we can upgrade to a kids den room in block 6 if thats the best location. From experience, would people recommend ground floor with terrace or 1st floor with balcony, especially with children as young as ours?
Thanks!
We have booked a Junior suite - has anyone stayed in one there is just my husband and I with our 2.5 yr old.
Also have read about the laundry £20 offer how does this work.
Thanks to everyone who has written about currency rates late check out etc its all been really helpful.
We have booked for the 2 May to go stay in a kids Den ( myself, Husband and 2 children aged 6 and 4) and our friends are also coming with us with their little Boy who is also 4. Any suggestions as to which would be the best area to request 2 of these rooms. Do they have a bath?
Also I know the vaccinations are recomended, have most of you who have been here had these, If so any ill effects on the children when they had them?
Do the kids Den rooms have kitchen area?
Any other info that you could give us would be great!!
We go in 4 weeks but I had read that vaccinations weren't necessary,
could someone please clarify
thanks
karen
I am hoping that they are not really needed!
Take a look at this topic for vaccination info
I beleive that all the kids den rooms are located within block 6 (as there are only 12 available and there are 12 rooms in block 6) so I don't think you'll have much choice about location.
some of the rooms have baths with a shower and some just have a shower cubicle, so if you want a bath email the hotel a couple of days before arrival and I'm sure they will sort you out.
Small children could wander off if the patio doors are open.
The upper floors have a large balcony with a table and chairs.
There are 8 rooms in block 6 and its only the 2 middle rooms on each floor that have kids dens.
There are also kids dens in other parts of the hotel but the kids dens in block 10 were very dark as they had no natural light.
In block 6 there is a frosted glass window between the kids den and the main room which lets lots of light in.
The kids den in this block have a bath with a shower over it whereas block 10 kids den only have a shower.
Hi Hollym, me and my hubby are going to the holiday village on the 6th of May so if you are there for 2 weeks we should cross paths. We also have a four year old son so there will be a few of the same age.
newbie to this website but we are going to the Holiday Village for 2 weeks in June. We have booked a Family Den room, my partner and I and my 11 year old daughter.
Does anyone know roughly how big/dimensions the bed is in the Kids Den? The reason I ask is that my daughter is 11 but is very tall for her age and is now 5'3". Are they standard bunk bed size? or are they on the small side?
many thanks for any advice
They looked like standard sixe bunk beds to me.
