Just told our daughter (9) that they do rookie lifeguard sessions but she replied with "but I don't speak Egyptian" lol. Which pool and what times are these sessions and are they free or payable?
ps patrickfinn ive got 2 daughters aged 9 and a 13 year old daughter have you any other children
You'll can register her straight after the welcome meeting, it cost approx. £30 and takes 2 & 1/2 hours to complete, spread across 3 different sessions. They then get a certificate for completing the course, these are presented on stage in the amphitheatre, just prior to the kids entertainment on various evenings. The First Choice swim instructors (British, lol) are great with the kids and it's well worth while, they learn a lot from them.

We got the little one ..........Boy (7) you won't be able to miss our big un at the airport as I will make sure she has her Stoke(premiere league) top on , and Dad will be right alongside her with the most massive we are Premiere League grin on his face!!!!!!!
Thanks Martyn P for the advice on the swim up rooms I`ll pass it on. Silly Q, what do they actually do/learn at the rookie lifeguard sessions - is it just improving their life saving skills!! can`t you tell the most swimming I do is lolling about on Katies lilo!! I don`t do getting hair wet
* it's our 10th wedding anniversary whilst we are there and I would like to upgrade to swim up rooms but we need interconnecting as we have 3 children with us, do they have interconnecting swim ups ? I have emailed first choice but didn't get a reply !
* Is it worth upgrading our flight if they have room ( do they offer this as its not quite long haul)
* what would you recommend to take to help with nerves on the flight? I used to be ok but then went to Australia on my own with 3 kids ( who were angels and slept most of the way) and last year on the way to turkey was panickey and snappy at poor d/h all the way there. Would the doc perscribe(sp??) something to chill me out but not knock me out !
oh we are going on the 18th sept - 2nd oct from b'ham and i'm really excited now!
Thank you enjoy if your off soon

The rookie lifeguard sessions were aimed at teacher the kids what to do in the event of helping someone in trouble in the water including how to rescue, putting them into the recovery position etc. Looked pretty good and my daughter enjoyed it and seemed to be full of info for us after each session. You could ask them to practice on you, after tipping the lilo over!! LOL
Hi Loubieloo, unfortunately I can't help on the flight info, as we never looked into upgrading etc. Would be best to email Ramy and ask about the rooms, as you may find there are rooms available when you go.
Regards
Martyn
Can anyone tell me what travel adapter you need is a normal roung 2 pin which you use in europe.
Yes, standard european adaptor, there was even one UK format socket in our room!
What I'm really concerned about is a 14 year old girls privacy being shattered by a 41 year old big hairy bloke in his underpants and her little hairless brother in his underpants. Her mothers no worry cause she's neither hairy and nor wears mens underpants
Any experiences, info or advice (not on underpants) great fully received.
Hi not been yet but i thought the swim up rooms were for 3 people 8 sleeps to go
Thanks Louise. Any info on linked rooms?
Many thanks for the review Martyn P. Now that's what I call a review!
LOL, thanks Luci.
You have certainly put our minds at ease!
We are really looking forward to this holiday now..just hope it doesnt go too quickly!
I have just received a reply from Ramy, he was very quick to reply.
just counting down the days at work now... girls are counting down the 'boring' days until we are there.
All those going in the next 2 weeks have a fab time and anyone going on the 21st see you there!
Joanne

5 more work getups
We got relatives over from USA at the moment so with all that is going on last weekend and this weekend plus taking the kids swimming etc during the week it almost feels like we are on holiday already
Just a few questions i would like to ask
the tummy probs over at the HV yeah i know its down to heat Walter but have heard that if your one of the unlucky ones to get it you go to the pharmacy and they give you some antibiotics this is the Question silly i know BUT dose any one know if they contain penicillin ??????
as i am allergic to this at it could do me some very bad harm
i have asked the Doc's this and the chemist and no one can give me a yes or no as no one knows whats in them know its a long shot but thought someone might know
i have also heard that some people say they took some tablets from the health food shop 2 weeks before and for the 2 weeks they were there and they were fine
again is this right ???????
so if any one can help me with this i would be very very very grateful.............
Thank you
shandygirl x x x x
P.S
Thanx John for the Email.. was very nice of you
Hi Jamnico, we tipped in pounds coins mostly, then towards the end of the holiday I would change their coins for a note, either Egyptian or Sterling, as they cannot cash pounds coins at the bank.
Hi Shandygirl, my wife wasn't subscribed Antinal but unfortunatetly we cannot remember what they were called. The pharmacist was very good and he will be able to discuss this, if you're unfortunate to have the need.
We took the Acidophilus Plus tablets before and whilst there, not sure if they helped but my daughter and I were absolutely fine for the two weeks. We got them on the internet from one of the online pharmacy shops.
Hi Patrickfinn, the only branded beer I saw was Heineken and possibly Stella and I believe they were around £3 per bottle, we never purchased any, as I found both the local draught lager and bottled Luxor beer fine to drink, along with the odd rum and coke & a few gin & tonics!
Hi 1of seven, zip wire is approx £7, although I only saw a few kids use it in the two weeks, maybe the price put them off. There are a number of courses etc they can sign up for with First Choice, with prices varying from £25 upwards. My duaghter only did the Rookie Life Guard course at £30 and it lasted 2 & 1/2 hours over three different sessions. Remember 90% of the kids club activities are free and there's plenty to do.
Cheers
