Jay Trip,
Would you say block 6 is the best one to ask for with the kids den? How much noise from the entertainment can be heard in this block? We have a 3yr old, so probably will be going back to the room about 10-11pm ish. Was just wondering whether it will still be noisy. Is it close to most other amenities? We quite like a stroll in the mornings to the main restaurant, so dont mind if its a walk away..
Our room was on the 1st floor which I would request as the ground floor rooms have no wall around the patio, just open to the gardens or the pool and small children could "escape" if you have the patio doors open!.
Look on the plan in the First Choice brochure and look for the Al-a-carte restaurants, block 6 is next door.
Just been having a peek at the hotel on Google Earth. Amazing how clear it is. Can't wait to go in February now.
Is there a snack bar on the beach? Saw a little shack up on the corner but wasn't sure if it was a bar. Also are you able to sneak onto the Grand Azure's huge pier or is there security stopping you getting onto their beach?
Thanks
C xxx
There is a beach bar but not a snack bar. The a la carte fish restaurant is on the beach as well but not sure if open at lunch or just evening.
You cant use the pier at Grand Azure its just for their guests. You can walk along it but they dont let you off and wont let u back on at the other end once you have snorkled.
I will certainly post a review for you all when i get back, no problem, go next week, cant wait.
We go in four weeks and can't wait. Am going to buy the acidiphulus tablets for all the family and hope for the best! Have emailed the hotel twice and haven't had a reply, as still want to know if a cot will fit in the kids den?? but they haven't emailed back and held for 96 mins on First Choice helpline and they picked the phone up and put it down and I'd lost the will to live by then!!! Does anyone know??
Cheers....Esther.
The doctors surgery was a kids den room in block 5. I didnt actually see the kids room but the main room was huge so I am sure a cot would fit in there.
Ester,a cot would fit in the kids den but it would be in front of the play station TV.
On another note, anyone that suffers with mosquito's ( i get bit within an inch of my life, 53 times in one night in Mexico and had to go to doctors and was allergic to the bites...nightmare, my legs looked far from great in my shorts!!)..popped into our local Netto for some cheap plonk for our bbq at the weekend and found some mosquito and insect repellant patches. You can stick them on your body or on anything else and they work on a 2 metre radius. Woman who was shopping at checkout said she'd used them and they were fantastic.
These will be great to stick near patio doors, on pushchair, near beds etc......anyway they were 99p for 12..bargain.
Sorry to go on but am paranoid about being bit and I'm sure there are others worried about kids also.
Cheers.
Apart from the obvious, could anyone tell me what the difference is between a select room and a swim-up room.
Thanks
one has a pool outside Katiesmum Joking apart I dont know much about a select room or do they have DVD as well as just a tv.
It helps set the mood. I am really ready for this holiday, Sept 11th can't come quick enough for me now.
Anyone know about the rooms?? are they all the same just with different names and of course a pool outside!!
Thanks
the beach is fab but id advise anyone to take swimshoes.the fish are fab to look at,we had to walk out quite a while to see them but the sea was so shallow is was unreal and no waves unitll you get right out.my kids had the camal ride that was bout 20 gbp for 2 off them.the shops there wasnt cheap we bout alittle water gun cost £8.00 when you can buy them here from poundland.
id like to say we wasnt ill,but we was and still not the best now.we all had stomach cramps and had to run to the loo alot.myself and husband are still the same now,the flight home was awful.we went to our gps he wanted stools to be sent off,we not allowed back into work untill its gone out off our systems.
the hotel and staff are fab.we never went out of resort as it was to hot kids couldnt cope.i do wish i booked for diffrent time of year.but nevermind.i cant say i wouldnt go back, but right now id say no i wouldnt.
the rooms were lovely and big,we had 2 rooms connecting,we had no problems with rooms really, once or twice we had no towels but soon as we rang down for some they were there at door.a tip on air con put it on 22 you will understand when you get there what i mean.try keep it off at night and leave it on during day.a few times the electric in thw whole of hotel went out kids screamed a bit the longest we waited was half an hour for it come back on.
Looking forward to going now with an open mind, September 25th, as nearly all the reviews are good, excepting some rather silly bad ones, nearly changed our Hols completely to another Country the day before our final payment was due, here hoping.
I always take a small torch on Hols since going to Goa, as very often Electric cut out either in Hotels, in Restaurants or just walking around.
Hope all who are going tomorrow or soon have a really good Holiday, hoping for some good reviews.
In your opionion please could you advise which would be the best block to request to be close to main pool (don`t really want to be next to the nightime disco on the beach!! if we can help it) we have a select room (I`m assuming they are in all the blocks). Thanks for any help you can give.
What do you do then? E mail HV and ask for the best block?
Hi All - STOP WORRYING!! We have just returned from HV (4am this morning) and all I can say is that it is a superb hotel - yes I got an upset tum but that really was because of the heat - its extremely hot! Took two tablets and wass right as rain! The food is lovely - plenty of choice for even the fussiest of eaters. The hotel has its own jetty and the snorkelling is amazing - we have some great photos. You do need to walk out quite a way to the reef but it is shallow and safe.
Hi Father Xmas, yes thats what I am hopefully gong to do if I get some advice about the best block.
We had a standard room in block 5, great location. Not sure if select rooms are in this block.
