We bought our snorkels in Naama Bay and they are much better quality over there. Paidabout £6 for each set. They're fitted properley for you by the staff in the shop unlike at home where you have to buy it first and if it doesn't fit, waste of money.
I would recommend just waiting and buying them there.
We're off to the HV 5 weeks on Monday and can't wait. 37 sleeps and counting.
jay trip,
How deep is 'deep'?
I'm a strong swimmer but deep water scares me for some reason, I just panic at the thought of not being able to touch the bottom. I snorkelled last year while at CSR. Saw some nice fish but nothing 'amazing'. Sounds like I was in the wrong place.

Hope someone can answer my wifes questions?
1.Are all towels supplied?Do we need to take any?
2.We have kids den.Any suggestions on which block to request one?
3.My daughter is 9 and a strong swimmer. How far out is safe to take her snorkelling?
4.If we book a la carte restaurants when we get there can we still take the kids to the buffet or are there still kid type meals available in the a la cartes?
5.We normally get up at 7.30-8.00 am.Is this ok to get beds by the pool?
6. Is premiership football shown anywhere in the hotel(Can't miss Stoke's first season in top flight in 26 years)Season Ticket has arrived
7.Are any excursions worth going on?Daughter 9 , Son 7.
Hope someone can help!
8.What times of the day are ice cream served as part of AI and can you buy them at other times?
Katiesmum and Louiselancs you both looking forward to it now the reports are coming in from people who have had fantastic hols?
PATRICKFINN: All towels are provided poolside and room ones.
Can't help with the kids den as we had a standard room in block 5 which was a fantastic spot, I do believe that there may be kids dens in that block but not 100% sure.
We went in May and we had our 2 kids with us aged 7 & 9 and we went out to the coral just off the jetty and left a bit,we saw some lovely fish. I think it may be too far to take a 9 year old out to the darker blue sea. Me and my husband put the kids in the kids club and were attempting to swim out to the deeper part and it was just taking forever and we gave up and we are both strong swimmers and swimming teachers.
The al la carte restaurants all do childrens menus or they can have a smaller version of the adult menu, but the buffet is still open so they could always go there afterwards.
7.30/8am should be ok to get a bed ,it depends on how busy it is when you are there. We used to go to the beach, much more peaceful and you could always get a bed.
Can't help with the football.
Icecreams I think started at 11am through to about 4pm. There ars shops that you can buy them from.
The only trip we did was Tiran Island and to be honest we saw better fish off the hv jetty. It was a lot of hanging about and although we booked it through aquarius I don't think the 2 guides who took us were that good.
Sorry I have rambled on a bit.
cant see you having any luck sleeping 4 in swim up room they only have 2 sunloungers on the terrace, I may be wrong but there is 3 adults in our room....
Stemma,
Try Ras Mohammed trip this time we undertook this trip when staying at the CSR will see superb fishes. Although I am quite optimistic that we will see wonderful sealife again from HV.
Last year hubby was face to face with a Napolean fish, these can be nasty and wanted me to face it out. Yeah right.
We arrive a week later than you 6 weeks and 2 days to go

We are in a standard room, can anyone tell me what they are like please, 2 adults and 1 child in our party.
The man who loads your bags on the coach i've read puts his hand out for a tip, is this still true, i thought they had already been paid by First Choice. I wouldnt like to feel intimidated the minute i get there.
I've also bought some mugs of our own as i've heard there may be a kettle but no cups in the room, can anyone advise on this, i can always use them at the poolside of course.
There were cups in our standard room, with a kettle.
When we went in May we just went to our coach and put our cases on ourselves. The driver was just organizing them,we didn't tip him.
Thanks that's great, just need to pack now and get some last minute things and some instant lattes (cant live without them) and i think i'll be ready for the off, counting down....
Hi all, anyone just been did your children try the stagecoach theatre sessions, according to the brochure they are available july and august, if so did they like it and how much was it,
Is it advisable to book it before we go or OK on our arrival?
anyone had problems?
we are going 24th Sept so hopefully it will be quieter.
i asked the same question about swim kids lessons, as we have a 4 yr old and want him to do the lessons. if you look on page 76 of this forum you will get the answer to your question.

E-Mailed Holiday Village this morning at 10am requesting Kids den in block 5 or 6 and they have just replied confirming our request.Getting excited now
I know its probably been posted before but can someone give me the email address for the hotel please, now that the age restriction is changed for the swim-up rooms I'm going to email and ask how much extra it would cost me for one of those rooms.
Please can you tell me if men have to wear long trousers in the a la cartes or will smart linen 3/4 be ok.
Deb
Thanks so much for that.
Jo
No you don't have to wear long trousers in the al la carte restaurants.
At lunchtime there is a poolside bar serving lunch, people used to queue up in swimwear,I don't know about the main restaurant being open lunchtime as we didnt go in there at that time, but think you would be fine just to put something over swimwear.
Can anyone please tell me what time the welcome meeting is when you arrive? I`m assuming it will be morning time. Can I ask then if you have sunbeds at the pool and then go to this meeting will your towels be taken off? Sorry if you think its a daft question but would hate to lose my towels on the first morning if we decide to go. Thanks x
Katiesmum- Our welcome meeting was at 10.30. We got our beds by the pool first then wondered up to meeting and they were there when we got back. The meeting was only about 40 mins long but to be honest a bit of a waste of time. The only thing we did was book our son on soccer school and register at kids club but I think this can be done without attending.
The Childrens den rooms in block 6 are lovely. We were in room 6203 which was on the 1st floor and had a beautiful view over the main pool and the sea.
