Hi I emailed the hotel the other day and requested, in their opinion to place us in their best standard interconnecting rooms. I got an email back saying they would do that. Started the acidophilus today. jom1964 so glad you had a good time, were the 2 tablets you had the ones you buy there or were they some you took with you. regards Louise 13 sleeps to go :sun2

Hi Louise

they were Antinal - bought them there for £2 for 12 tabs - worked a treat!

The themed restaurants are between the main building and the beach - the only "bad" meal we had was at Sari - the Indian - I was expecting a good curry but it was very bland - the Chinese "Bamboo" was excellent and the food in the main restaurant is superb! Believe me im a fussy eater!

We had a select jacuzzi suite which was located right near the beach - the room was lovely - almost as big as my whole house! I would def go back to this hotel again - it was really busy but always felt peaceful and there never seemed to be q's.

For Louise-lancs.

Hi Louise, how long did the hotel take to reply to your email ?

We're going for the October half term and I've asked them a couple of questions on swim up rooms and staying in a prefered block. Only sent it on Monday, wondered how long they take to reply.

Also open questions to anyone else.
We're going the last week in Oct / 1st week Nov.
i) any idea what temp the pools are likely to be ?
ii) the days seem short, dark by 5pm, thought it would be later than this as it's farther south. Is 5pm right(ish) ?

Thanks in advance
Kat

hi katiesmum
I stayed in block 6, in a standard room, it over looks the shallow end of the main pool and is next to the a la carte restaurants. this is the end that the disco on the beach is on and not one night did we hear noise from it you could here the evening entertainment but it never bothered us if I was going again (I wish I was there now!) I would book this block again I dont know if there is any select rooms in this block though. block 5 is the block with the water slides next to it. hope this helps

Would someone be kind enough to let me know if the Swim Up Rooms have a Table and Chairs outside or just Sun Beds? Also which Blocks are best for Swim Up Rooms. Looking on Google Earth the first block you come to from the Beach look favourable or perhaps the block which look as if they are near the quiet pool? :que

Many thanks

Any sign of any mozzies. This may sound a bit silly but do you need a light weight cardie for the restaurant because sometimes its really cold in there. Also can you change english sterling at the hotel - or do all the shops take our currency anyway - 11 days to go - but havent get my tickets yet - need to chase that one up.

Afternoon all,
Maybe daft question - do you only pay in the fish restaurant - are the other 2 a la cartes non payable. I`m getting a bit confused.. doesn`t take much these days.

Thought of something else I needed to ask earlier, but have forgotton now.... thats an age thing! I`ll no doubt be back later.

katiesmum I read in the brochure that there is an Indian, asian, mediteranean and seafood restaurant aswell as the main one, it says you only pay in the seafood one but you get free soft drinks, perhaps someone whos been will confirm this. :sun2

Hi All
The fish restaraunt is the only one that you pay for. Everything except the fish is all inclusive including the alcohol which continuously gets topped up as does the kids soft drinks. You pick which fish you want from the display and they weigh it there and then and tell you how much it will be. We had four sea bass and eight very very big prawns and it came to £58. This in my opinion was the best meal we had and the atmosphere was lovely as you are in the restaurant upstairs in the open looking over the beach.

Morning All, 3 weeks today and we're off!!

Just wondering if anyone could remind me as to what's been said in previous posts about which currency is best to take?

Also we have a standard room and I'm sure I've seen posting that say people who've stayed in a standard room had tea/coffee making facilities but the brochure doesn't seem to mention for a standard room. Could someone clarify for me please, don't want to be taking a kettle if not required.

Alot of people are requesting their room block in advance, was just wondering is there actually a bad block to be in as wasn't going to request a block in advance as not really that bothered, unless of course, there are certain blocks you think are unsuitable for whatever reason. Any comments would be appreciated.

Going to Holland and Barratt today to buy stomach tabs so will hopefully not be too bad in that department.
Really looking forward to it now.

To all those already there and to those who'll be departing withing the next 3 weeks, I really hope that you have a great time. To all those at the HV between August 25th and Sept 1st, I'll see you there!!

Can someone confirm if you are allowed to take the hotel towels to the beach? I know they let you use them round the pool but we are real beach lovers...

Many thanks

jolo123 you can take the pool towels to the beach you just collect them from the towel hut in the mornings

DEB8: We were in a standard room which did have a kettle plus a dvd player, both of which we didn't expect so my advice would be to take a kettle just in case.
