Sunseeker - have read your review on the hotel review section; don't be fobbed off by First Choice. They always tell you in the first instance that you are the only ones who have complained and that there is nothing they can do. Be persistent and if you have any evidence, all the better.

We had a problem with HV in Turkey last year and although it took us from August until February this year, we did get money back.

Stick at it and good luck.

been to our travel agent today and they phoned FC and they finally admitted
that the WS isn't fully finished and that they had given all the people the choice
of cancelling or moving their holiday free of charge, and i have this letter if anyone
needs a copy when trying to get money back. they did say that the hotel will be
fully finished by the end of this month.

Sad to hear FC not entertaining a claim. Stick at it. Thats what ABTA are there for.

We went back to WS yesterday about our swimwear (see earlier post) and they paid us what we wanted (albeit in pesos).

Asked Simon about the splashpark and he said the pump was def still impounded in customs as there is a trade issue with China. Dont hold your breath.

Activity pool now open though.

According to rep here, 60+ guests moved to Iberostar at beginning of week.

Good luck to all new guests. We have had a great time, but only from moving to The Occ Grand. Will be seeking compensation so would like to keep this forum going to assist everyone. And I agree, FC not on my list of agents to use in future.

Going home tomorrow and I can´t wait!! I have been in touch with FC from here as the reps and manager in resort are absolutely useless and have basically been told we have no case and if we want to proceed we need to do it through a third party. I will never travel First Choice again as they have really let down so many people in the last two weeks when they could have given us the choice to cancel like they are now doing for others.
As of Friday 16 May the splashpool is still in the same condition as a week ago, the activity pool is now open and the relaxation pool still has bits crumbling off of it. There are still 30 plus holes where they are apparently waiting to plant palm trees. The Royal Suite Pool has no tables or parasols so if you are in the supposed VIP section you have 7 parasols on the beach for a possible 35 couples and in this heat with no shade can be a serious problem! Food is very hit and miss. Lunch Menu is lovely but breakfast and dinner are very limited in choice. I will say the staff here are very helpful (just not the ones from First Choice!)
Anyone going to HVWS soon I hope everything gets sorted out for you and you have all the facilities you should have! Will do a proper review once I return home

sorry to be a pain but our travel agent refuses to believe there is a problem at all and any back up would be useful.

we r actually sitting in the airport lounge awaiting our flight to HVWS and I must admit we are both a bit glum.
We have phoned FC and been assured that all is well!!!
Would like a copy of that letter as well please will contact when we return.
Am going to try and get a move before even checking in.

I Have Booked The Hotel For The 25th Of May And I Searched The Web Looking For Reviews And Found A Lot Of Bad Things About This Hotel And As I Am Traveling With Four Kids And I Took The Time By Calling The Hotel And Asked Many Questions Regarding All Of This Mad Reviews And All Of Them Have Turned To Be Lies I Spoken With the manager who seems "A Very Honest Person" That Told Me The Truth . . .
- Rooms Dirty <----- Not True
The Rooms Are Cleaned Every Day (Sheets Cleaned, Drinks Changed, BathRoom Cleaned etc)
- Kids Club Not Finished <----- Not True
Yes It Is Finished In Fact There Is Two Separate One For TeenAgers (12+) And Toddlers (2-12)
-Splash Pool Not Finished And Blue Paint In It <----- Not Completely True
Yes The Splash Pool Is Not Finished They Had To Put In The Pump But It Will Be Working Fine By Tuesday As For The Blue Paint This Is Not At All True
-Scorpions In Rooms <----- A Rare Case
The Woman That I Spoke With Was Very Honest And Said That This Was Not A Useall Thing It Has Happened Once Or Twice But No One Has Gotten Hurt This Is As A Result To The Hotel Being Quite Near A Jungle/Forest Don't Worry No Snakes Or Lions And To Prevent This They Have Fumigation
So That Is It For Any Questions Just Contact Me.

I can't believe you would be naive enough to believe a manager 'who seems to be an honest person' ??? rather than believe the people who have actually visited the resort and found things not to be finished....
The people who are leaving these reviews and posting from resort have absolutley nothing to gain from telling lies about the situation at resort. Whereas a manager has every reason to be 'economical' with the truth....
Surely if you are so confident that everything is ok ,why would you be asking for the letter 'just in case' ?

good afternoon or not as the case may be. i have looked at this forum for some time waiting with eager anticipation about holiday village was shocked at the reviews i've read so far. consequently been into travel agents this morning for an hour and generally been fobbed off not a happy bunny :( . has anybody got a copy of this letter that is floating around giving full refund with no charge as due to go there with my family in 6 wks and whilst i sympathise with all who are going soon or been and returned would like the opportunity to change or cancel .

at the WS and have nothing to gain by lieing

you must be the most popular fellow on this section at the moment and hold the key to all who are endevouring to do something about there jollies. i am due back in thompson on monday and wish to be armed to the teeth with all that i can so that letter would be very appreciated and will let all know how i went on. does any 1 know where there is, if any, photo's of what seems to be described as a building site.my partner givin me lots of ear ache as this has taken the gloss of our first family jollies together. i have been mexico twice b4 and it is a wonderful place. want to feel like this when i go :sun2 and not get off the coach and be like this :yikes . cheers matey.

HOLIDAY VILLAGE WHITE SANDS -CZM - BRIEF - 8.5.08

The Holiday Village White Sands received its first arrivals on 3 May 2008.

Unfortunately, today we have been advised that due to a delay in the delivery of hydraulic parts, the Family Splash Park will not be available for our customers to use. All other pools within the complex are fully operational. They include the Relaxation Pool and Activities Pool. Customers to be reassured there is no work taking place on the Family Splash Park.

In addition, due to a delay in the transportation of the High Ropes Apparatus, this facility will also not be available.

Therefore, all bookings travelling 10 and 11 May are to be advised.

10 May 41 bookings 127 customers

11 May 44 bookings 115 customers

All customers will be given the option to amend their holiday without incurring admin fees.
However, any difference in cost will need to be covered by them. Alternatively if the holiday cost is less, they will receive a refund of monies due.

Retention of bookings wherever possible is sought, however, a cancellation free of charge may be offered as final solution depending on the individual customers situation. The cancellation to be authorised by a team leader or manager based within Sales Support Department.

Customers and agents will be advised to contact 0844 800 3100 for amendments or cancellations.
