You've probably noticed
I did have a great time in Goa but a very stressful journey there and then the same on the way back. 4 flights in 8 days with BA- 21 hours of delays, lost luggage( which is still lost). £50 given to us to get things- have you seen the price alone of suntan lotion in Goa? if I wrote it all down no-one would believe me. But Goa was great- we arrived at our hotel, nipped up to the main road to buy toiletries and then sat down for a drink. Half way through the drink, the stress disappeared. We looked around us and knew it would be alright!
Was ALL your luggage lost Fiona?? So..did you spend the entire holiday in either a sarong or those big baggy trousers where the crutch comes down to your knees!
I left Tony half way through that first drink, walked into the first shop I came to and bought a skirt and three blouses. I did have a days change of clothes and beach wear in the inflight bag. I also had my straightners( now that would have been a disaster!) and my jewellery. No makeup- was going to buy some but didn't bother. Its actually surprising how little you actually really need. Trouble is, Tony will remind me of that everytime we go away!
PHEW that was lucky Fiona!!! PMSL!!!
Good thinking packing some things in hand luggage, dont think i could suffer having no makeup, but if you were happy thats all that matters, lucky you are a small size to buy cloths in goa.Its great you had a relaxing time. Glad to see you back
I watched a couple years ago whose first few days of their holiday were ruined due to no luggage. So ever since then I have enough to tide me over for a day or so.
Pleased you had a great hol after all the hassle Fiona - was Kingstork as good as last time?
of course I will post a short review sometime in the next few days- when I'm a bit more with it.
well I'm just back and BA and terminal 5 is a shambles just now. I feel really sorry for those who have to work with them and put up with all the flak just now. Spoke with several who said they were embarrassed to admit they worked for them.
First of all, they had cancelled several of the Aberdeen/Heathrow flights on the day we flew. Ours appeared to be ok. But they delayed it for 2 and a half hours. There were many people with connections who were panicking. We checked before we eventually boarded whether it was worth us going down- as did all the others. We were assured we would be ok. Well, we then sat ages in the plane wating to get off. We had to run all the way through T5 to get to the shuttle and then run through T4( if you were there last Saturday and saw a female running barefooted through the terminal that was me!) We made it with seconds to spare. At flight connections most of the others on our flight found they were too late) Of course when we arrived in Mumbai we discovered( as we knew really) that our luggage had not made it. And the same was true for quite a few others. They gave us a paltry £50 to tide us over the two days it would take according them for the luggage to arrive. They still have not found it, although it is probably in Milan.
On our return, our flight went sick. There is nothing that can be done about that. My gripe is that they knew at 1pm that it was sick. We were in the departure lounge by then. We were there for the next 5 hours. I can't complain about the flight crew. they were out there, sorting out water and something to eat and putting up with all the queries. We were eventually taken to a very nice hotel( Mumbai Hyatt) and had to get up at 1.15 am for our return. I was issued with a second set of return tickets from heathrow to Aberdeen. We were then delayed 2 hours. When we landed something had gone wrong and we had to wait on the runway for a bay. We had missed our other flight.
We then got issued with our third set of return tickets. This was after a long wait at the BA service area, which has about 16 desks but only had 4 manned. Our last plane only started to board 45 mins after it should have left. The last straw was having to sit in it for 2 hours as they found that the wrong cases had been loaded. They had all to be taken out and then they didn't know which ones should actually be loaded there. The captain was really apologetic. The crew were just fed up with the whole thing.
I'm not going to say now that I will never fly with them again. I await with interest to see what they think we should get as compensation.
T5, if it ever gets sorted, does actually look really nice.
Lovely to have you back Fiona and I am glad you still had a nice time in Goa - even minus your luggage Looking forward to hearing all about your trip x
OMG Fiona....do you now need a holiday to get over this one???

GFF xx
BA continues to amaze. We got a wake up call at 6am with a delighted BA telling us they had located and sent our luggage....... to Mumbai. This is despite being told during our daily chat on Thursday just to send it to our home address.
Even the lure of unlimited weigh for hand luggage would'nt tempt me on to the disaster that is B.A. How many shambles does it take before even the die hard fans give up on them? Alan
yes- I shall see what they do to compensate. But I think I will have to just collect airmiles with a different company from now on.
Welcome back Fiona
I hear they're rebranding all the BA planes....BA...Bloody Awful, or is it Ball Ache, or Boobed Again, or Baggage Adrift.
my husband called them bunch of ar******- will leave you to work it out
i agree with him
