I have printed the visa off, do I not have to wait for them to send me special delivery envelope> :que . I can only apoligise for asking such 'silly' questions. So we sign them and send them in an envelope to Hayes, pay at the post office extra for special delivery and insert another special delivery envelope with our address on it for their return, is this right??????

Thanks

no question is silly if you don't know the answer. :rofl

I agree with Maz - as far as I know, you need to go to the Post Office and buy a Special Delivery envelope (£4.95) to send your application, passport and photos in.

You have an option to either enclose another RM Special Delivery envelope for the return or pay extra for a courier service.
Have you paid extra for the return courier service?
If so, you only need the one RM SDE to send to Hayes.

Don't forget to make a note of the reference number of the SDE so you can track (via the RM website) when it's delivered to VFS.
If you're having return by RM SDE, make a note of that number too.

How much have you paid?

Visas cost £30.00 plus £9.05 for the VFS Service charge, so you should be able to work out what you've actually paid for.

IMPORTANT:
You can only send 2 passports in one RM SDE.

Re returning to India within 2 months. Check out the last form on the list on this link. It evidently takes 3-4 days to process, so there isn't time for us to submit it!!

I am absolutely gutted , I am off to Goa for Xmas, and I was about to book flights for november too, but if I am being honest I do not want to risk paying for the flights and the holiday at Xmas to be refused re entry as they are not cheap, this had made me really angry, I wanted to treat my daughter to the November trip and now everything is up in the air :que

I am so fed up about the 2 month rule , I am now looking at Kenya or Mexico instead for November, but I really wanted Goa :cry

oh yes it will be a problem for many in that situation shirleyv :duh silly isnt it, unless you can get them to accept the seperate additional application ... i just looked at it on VFSGlobal and its a very simple form, they dont ask too many questions and maybe if they can see you have only been 'visiting ' not staying long term it might be ok?

I know Chilly you are right, but I don't want to pay £2700 for my Xmas holiday to be told I can't go :cry

Does anyone know if they offer the 3 month visa nowadays ? I am thinking I could get a 3 month visa to expire end of November, then get a new visa in December :think

I dont think that would solve anything as you have to have 60 days between visits... this is what my friend was told today at the consulate in UK ... she went home for xmas and was applying for tourist visa having had a business visa and was told she cannot return on a tourist visa within 60 days...so they have given her an emergency business visa for 6 mths at a cost of...wait for it!!! £380!!! £150 for the tourist visa she applied for a few days ago (i guess that was a year one) then another £230 today for the 6 mth (emergency) business visa s she has flights for tomorrow,,, the consulate have been considering for a week whether to issue it at all!!!
The crazy part is that initally she asked about the 2 mth rule and was told it didnt apply, so she could have ended up being refused at entry!! but then a senior person at the consulate was asked and said yes it did apply... :que

Hi Shirley,
unfortunately another of the new rules is there has to be a gap of two months before applying for a new visa!!

i have just this second received a UK Foreign office email updating on new advice from Indian Governments rules on tourist visas heres the link http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-living-abroad/travel-advice-by-country/asia-oceania/india you then have to click on entry requirements / frequently asked questions where there is a whole blurb on it!.........it seems they are going to stamp your passport 'NO RE ENTRY' but say even if it isnt stamped they will still refuse you entry!!
