Had visas application returned with a tick by Signatures on application
it says:
"signature should be as passport/self declaration required for change of signature"
(its not mine thank God) but do they mean re sign a reprinted one or enclose a declaration, in fact will probably do both, its been ok for the last 4 years & visas in passport to support that, you would of thought they would have checked and made an allowance as the passport is 9 years old.
oh no,after ours went off i kept thinking(i can't remember doing my signiture i knew i'd stood over OH saying make sure it's the same as passport)you know being such a smarta person, but i did think well they'll be able to see the 4 previous visas.I panic every year & i'll be as bad next year, but isn't it worth it hope you get it sorted send everything you can think of sending, did u have to pay again?
Just have to pay for the postage again,
I'll cross mine as well!
I can say that now we've got them, but you always wonder if something will be wrong (even though we've done it before) and as I'm in Spain, it would have been a big problem if there was something wrong with my application.
Anyway, we can now relax, roll on February 28th
Oh thats the same day as us :
Sorry, posted that after a couple of vinos, in fact we're going Feb 27th from Gatwick, arriving 28th
Drama over visas arrived today
Phew!Bet that's a relief
Thank you for your query,
An applicant of any nationality needs to have a gap of minimum 2 months before he or she applies for the new tourist visa to India once the old tourist visa expires. Please note that this rule is applicable only for tourist visas & not for any other type of visas. With regards to the cases where the applicant has to travel to India within 2 months for unavoidable reasons on a tourist visa, then in such case he or she will have to obtain special permission from the HCI or otherwise the applicant will be deported by the Indian immigrations. This is a new directive which has been intimated by HCI.
For those of you who like to visit Goa more than once in a season, make sure your visa covers both or all visits. From the Visa office today(29th December) in answer to my query

From what I can understand of this reply, it's not as originally suggested that if you leave the country you can't return within two months on your current VISA but that if you have a current VISA you can't reapply for a new one until a period of 2 months have passed.
As most people intending going twice in one holiday season are careful to apply in October and take their second trip before April I can't see too many problems for the straight forward holiday tourist.
Am I right in that interpretation ?
That's what I think it means as well Dave!
Sorry, but the information you have been given is incorrect,Here's the latest update from the MHA in India :
In section 3, sub paragraph i & ii, it does state you can re-enter the country 2 or 3 times as a tourist if you have travel documents. At least that is how I interpret it!
The only strange thing is, how can you get deported if you haven't been issued a new visa to travel with anyway? We all no how hot they are re issuing visa's, so surely they won't issue any without ensuring the two month gap has been left.
there will be a difficult situation for 12 month visa holders, such as myself,my visa expires in october,so not being able to apply till end of dec, effectively means i would be looking at minimum of january, for entry into india, and the following year would be pushed back to end of february, that would be a goodbye goa, this when 5 more countries have been given visa free entry
All set to be posted in the morning with 2 photos that make me look like a reject from prisoner cell block H
Is it £30 for a children's visa aswell as adults? I will be applying for mine and my 12 year olds soon..
