Yep

No problem with that Jane, but if you're going to fill it in by hand don't forget to enclose your payment. I beleive it has to be a postal order.

Not thick at all, Jane.

If they're asking for the PIN as part of the address, then yes, it is the postcode - I think it's 2 sets of 3 numbers.

aw man!! what next!! now i have tracked the special delivery envelope that i sent yesterday and it says it has had to be forwarded to a forwarding address, i sent it to the address on the visa application website.

jane,

I sent mine to Hayes but when I tracked it, it said sent to Victoria. Still don't why they forwarded it on to another centre I assumed it was because of the volume being received at Hayes.

I received them back with no problems at all. Just track them every day and try contacting them if nothng has happened within a week.

Try not to worry too much.

spent 2hrs last night applying online, internet went down half way through, started again but when it asked for address in india,it kept asking for a valid address , in the end i put where we stayed last year andit was accepted I finally finished mine and started on OH s which went quite well, then it came to payment(i thought nearly done )but then it said payment was unsuccesful so as i was determined to get it finished, thought i'll just send postal order, time to download & print,i had been working on my notebook then realized it wasn't set up for use with the printer,so then had to start up laptop :cry but at least payment was accepted when everything went through on it.Printed both forms off then realized i hadn't put my middle name,by this time i was so stressed but couldn't take the risk it not being exactly as passport,so then had to retrieve the application i now know that i am really thick, where you put security letters&numbers i just can't read them i must of put them in about 15 times :que Will post this afternoon & then sweat till they come back, all this should be of no surprise as i panic every year & when the visa comes think Oh that was quite straightforward really!Until next year, ther must be an easier way,but it's quite reasuring reading this forum i'm not alone

We want to go to Goa in January but haven't booked - my plan is to get our visas and get a last minute bargain - can I get a visa before booking a flight/hotel in advance?

No problem at all with getting your visa before you book anything.

Not many of us do it, but the visa site does recommned that you DO get your visa before you book anything.

Please can someone tell me whether it is still possible to have a twelve month tourist visa for India?

You're right they do, and yet they ask where you are entering and leaving India from and where you are staying, which is difficult if you haven't booked. Wouldn't be surprised if they rejected the application as a result.. bearing in mind mine was rejected for failing to put a UK referee which basically is someone to contact in case of emergency.
I'd be interested to know how you got on !

Yes it is possible

BUT

Extremely unlikely to be granted and if your application is rejected you loose your fee !
