hi all, hanyone else having trouble with the online visa application? When I get to the 'VAF Details' page, I press submit & it doesn't go through, it says 'Your visa may not cover proposed travel dates' at the top of the page!

Have you sorted your application problem yet?
The only thing I can think of is that maybe you've put a wrong date down somewhere e.g. you've put on the application that you're travelling Dec 2010 instead of Dec 2009 so that a visa issued now wouldn't cover your travel dates.
I have checked and double checked each visa to make sure the passport numbers are correct. I am so impressed - I cannot believe they have come back so soon.
Only 5 weeks and 1 day to go, but still loads of things to do.
I know the feeling Sydney, mine arrived yesterday - I looked at it a dozen times before putting it away. Lucky you - only five weeks - we have 10 weeks to wait
Looks they've moved the goal posts again..... for the past 5 years I have put NA for father as I never really knew him/remember him/don't know if he's alive/dead....... did the same this year and they've sent my form back saying i need to fill it in!
Has anyone ever put down stepfathers name?? (He's my Dad as far as I'm concerned so not bothered by it).
I'm so

I had this problem last year, my natural father is Pakistani and I used to put his details on my Visa application with no problems at all, then last year discovered it may stop my application so last year I used my stepdads details which worked fine. Have done the same this year, only posted passport off on Wednesday so fingers crossed its going to work.
Good Luck
Julie
I used the Royal Mail SDE and all went went. I received a refund note as I must have overpaid at some point I presume.
Well chuffed...and well done to all the people who have been involved inc those on the forums who always make the form filling that bit easier so thanks.
PS I have put a mock of this years VIsa form on my website if anybody wants to become familiar

I have no fathers name on birth certificate. Sent email to ask for guidance from VFS and was told to put Not Known and send copy of birth certificate. Completed application online putting Not Known for fathers name NA for place of birth and nationality and enclosed a photocopy of birth certificate. They received application on Tuesday 3rd Nov and I received back yesterday 7th Nov.
This is my first post so I apologise if this posting looks a right mess.

I got round that particular problem, I think it was because I was applying for a 1 month visa from the end of December - as the visas are valid from the date of issue, it would have run out by the time we went on holiday - so I changed it to 3M & it went through.
Now I've got another problem, basically I started filling out our visa apps online & didn't get a web ref No - so now when I enter my girlfriends passport onto the system to start afresh, it says 'passport in process'.
...evening.... i've got my online application forms filled in & downloaded but what else do I need to send with them, other than our passports? Do we have to send the checklist? And should we also send a copy of the receipt for the online payment? What's the address we have to send the applications to?
We weren't sure whether or not to send the checklist, so we did (as we didn't want to give the Visa people and excuse to return the whole lot unprocessed). Rather than send off the receipt, we printed off the summary sheet (the page with the passport numbers and web reference number) and wrote on it the receipt number. We sent our visa applications off to the office in Hayes on Monday, 2nd November and they were returned on Friday, 6th November.
We did not send the checklist but we did send the receipt of proof of payment. Like Sydney says, send to the Hayes address but remember that the post office might question your address as it often comes up with (on their computer system) Fiat Directs building. This is normal so don't be worried as it must share the same building as it stll gets to the correct department.

And your 2 photographs......?
Have sent me back with stepfathers name on it...fingers crossed! This time I've got a copy of EVERYTHING so can track it !
I wish they would keep previous years applications online....all I would need to do is change the dates !!
Thanks for your help folk Did this 12 months ago & can't remember making a pigs ear of the online applications forms back then!
I bet you're pleased that you've got that out of the way - all you have to do now is to wait for your applications to be processed and returned.
We didn't go through the on-line process last year, we missed Goa altogether for the 08/09 season.
Me and OH sat together with both of us double-checking and did the same once we'd printed the forms out.
We did find a small mistake so we changed it on line and re-printed, ours came back really quickly. Posted Monday evening around 5pm, received back Friday morning before midday.
