Thanks Trina
Think I will go for the postal option
just posted mine heres fingers crossed now at the post office the post code for hayes came up as fiat uk must be in the same building i hope
I've read lots of posts that said the Post Office said that the VFS postcode was for a Fiat dealer.
Actually, if you look at the VFS website under 'Contact us' under Hayes information it mentions that Fiat Direct has authorised clamping in operation for any unregulated parking in front of their showroom on the road leading to Canalside.
So, no need for concern.
thanks for that feb cant come soon enough now
I am just about to do the visa application online. Dont really wnt to trawl the whole thread. So my question is. Have there been any changes since I did the application at this time last year. If I remember I did it online and paid the fee and sent the downloaded application etc to Consulate General in Birmingham and it came back from there about 2 weeks later. I live in West Yorks.
Hi, the only change is that now all postal applications go to Hayes.
Thanks. One more thing. What with the Royal Mail situation, does anyone know if Visa's are being returned by RM or are they using someone else? Also does anyone know of a good courier I could use to send my application?
I can't help you with the courier, but RM website states that they will continue to deliver RM Special Delivery items throughout the strike.
RM have changed this information over the last few weeks.
Whilst there were wild-cat strikes, they said they were giving SD items priority.
Then during the strike, they said the same but were suspending the time of delivery guarantees.
I think you can opt to pay for a courier (company called DX?) for the return of your passports at a higher cost than paying for SD.
I have filled in the forms online. If I pay for them online do I have to send any more money with the postal application or is that it.
I am sure they dont want people to visit with all the hassle they give us
thanks
bob
If you pay on line, job done for the visas. If you chose to pay for the return courier, that's done too.
Thanks
Cannot believe this turnaround. Handed my stuff in at Manchester this Monday the 26th got it all back today the 29th by courier DX... even got an email to say it was on the van for delivery today. Cannot fault it at all.
Excellent news
Crikey Bapu Boy! If there was an award for the quickest turnaround with a Visa application, I think yours would stand a really good chance of winning it.

Just waiting for them to arrive today all being well with the strike. Very impressed with the turnaround this year
Woo Hoo - Passport has been delivered - can chillax now and go on a mad bender over the weekend
really glad about all the good news on the visas especially after the drama I had with ours.Well Iam off on Sunday Hope everyone else waiting for the visas have good news.
One last question (honest). When I send my visa form off in the post does it have to be filled in using a pen or can I send the printed one off the visa site.
did you do the on-line application?
If so, just print it off and sign and date the bottom of the form - IN BLACK INK (sorry for shouting).
don't forget to keep a note of:
your passport number
your application reference number (14 characters, I think)
your outward SDE reference (if applicable)
your return SDE reference (if applicable)
