John, you can just print the forms off and complete them by hand, two of my friends did this with no problems.
We completed ours with the old fashioned pen and ink too. Printed off a blank + a spare each and made sure we filled in every section. Posted and returned inside 8 days. Lots less stress
use a black pen to fill your application form in - VFS seem to reject applications for all sorts of strange reasons.
And don't forget to sign it.
If you have plans to visit India twice in a season, you can apply to re-enter at the same time as your VISA application and it will be granted. Again, you have to provide details of your travel plans.
Correct ?
This is OK if you are a long stayer intending returning home for, say, Christmas and also allows long stayers to visit other countries but not useful if you happen to be a short term holiday tourist who spots a second holiday on a good last minute deal or decides to go again. You will then have the need to contact the Indian High Commission in the UK and have the problem of getting that clearance.
Still, at least some people should be happier !
does anyone have any accurate up to date info regarding the two month rule, especially regarding re-applying when the old one runs out
Here you go Cliff
I am still unconvinced as these newspaper articles keep surfacing...but is the info actually new????
Chilly
I presume terrorists with onward tickets won't have a problem then !
but not clear on length of time between old visa running out and applying for new
Doesn't seem to have changed that much
I'm not sure from the article if you can have up to 3 visits to India from the UK on the same valid visa or if those 3 entries have to be from another country (than the UK) e.g. Sri Lanka, Nepal etc that you've visited as part of your main visit to India.
You'd expect ( ) that if the Home Ministry have issued revised guidlines on granting tourist visas it would be reflected on the VFS website but as far as I can see that is still saying you have to have 2 months gap between visits.
this link was sent to me by a friend

hi Dragon

chilly
There were quite a few rumours flying around a couple of months ago that this silly 2 month rule was to be abolished?? however it doesn't look likely now , anyone heard anything to indicate it may be abolished? I am still fuming over the fact that I cannot visit with my daughter in November
chilly
a friend of mine said at the weekend, that someone had told her " If you have 6 visas in your passport it enables you to apply for a 1 year visa"...ive never heared that before. Is it a "Old wives tale".... or may there be some truth in it...
Many thanks....
