on the 1/12/2010. ifilled it on line on the 1/11/2010
posted it on the 4.11/2010 but i sent normel size passport
photoes i hope they dont send them back.

To make matters worse Royal Mail are not guaranteeing next day deliveries for Special Delivery due to the weather. I do feel sorry for everyone with these ongoing problems it spoils the anticiption of your holiday. Hope everything gets sorted out soon.
As far as I remember , when you have finished the first application there is an option to add another and so on until you have done all you need and then the payment is for all.
That is of course unless it has been changed in the last few days.

Had my inlaws applications returned due to a problem processing the credit card payment.
Cannot for the life of me now find the link to modify and pay for the applications online.
Understand they have had problems with hacking the site.
Anyone had a similar experience.

I certainly wouldnt pay online papa, I would send postal orders
I did my wifes online on the 23/11/10 and they received it and signed for it 0n the 24/11/10.I paid online with a visa debit card and it also went through the verified site before it was authorised and payment was taken by London SW1W Vfs - Indian Visa. My worry is though when I try to track my application i just get "sorry no record found" although i have been able to retrieve my application form and print it again, so it is clearly on their system. I have emailed VFS today but not holding out much hope of a satisfactory reply if at all.
Just noticed that from the 23rd November all change again at VFS.
Anyone think I would be better just doing 2 new applications and swallowing the postal costs as the credit card has not been charged anyway.

just been on to visa it says i have been prossessed.
but i posted mine to manchester and it says prossessed at birmingham
dont know wats going on but i will let you know if my passport arrives.

Papa, if I understand correctly, they already have your passports and application but no money.
If you do new apps. do you trust them to marry them up to your passports?
Maybe better to ring them (ouch!) and pay over the phone , if they allow this.

They returned the lot.
Passports application forms and one photo attached.
Its a toss up between sending them all back with postal orders and doing new applications through the new process.

will they still accept the older forms?
I think in the light of the present fiasco I would print off new forms, enclose the new size photos and Postal orders, or will vhs take the payment over the phone?

Another year another fiasco. Instead of the system getting better and learning from mistakes, no they have to constantly change things and the process gets worse. Why cant they leave things alone when they are working? Its as if someone is solely employed to keep throwing a spanner in the works. It makes me wonder if its worth all the hassle and stress of this every year. I wonder if the government in India are aware how difficult it is to give them our tourist pounds.
You may only need one appointment, as you are one family, my brother-in-law took mine and my wife's to Manchester and needed to make two appointments, luck was his family was first and mine was next on the list . it only took 3 days to be returned by post. 
You can't make an appointment at the moment and haven't been able to for a couple of days. I've also rang the premium number and was told no sorry you can't make an appointment at the moment as their are problems with the system! 
posted mine 16th Nov signed for by RAV on 17th and I am still waiting

Posted ours 15 November, just checked VFS it says processed application handed over to royal mail 01 /12/2010.

bet you we miss the postman as we are both at work tomorrow, I never feel happy until I actually see them in our passports

I never wrote my passport number down so I cant even check on VFS
Didn't write mine down either but luckily found photcopies of last years visa in holiday file which included ID page of passport.
