Hi Sydney

we made our own photos here:

http://idphoto4you.com/

It's easy to use and best of all free :tup

Sent everything off yesterday, so it's now in the lap of the gods (VFS :rofl )

Including making photos, completing on line applications and payment, it took 3 hours for two of us. Fortunately I'd booked a days leave to allow for this.

Hi ssharon , I think I am correct in saying that the standard specification for a UK passport is 45 mm x 35mm , now , before their is a wave of suicides amongst members of this BB , maybe you could provide some "evidence" to support your claim , re 50mm x 50mm being the "new" requirement .

I have made the High Commission aware of this and also pointed out that the only way a 2" x 2" picture could be achieved was by cutting an immage to size with scissors or a guillotine.
It was almost a days work completing the form for my wife and myself. If you want to pay on line click on the righthand tab,
Appointments/payments.
The completed form appears for printing or saving.Once done if you come out of that screen the payment form appears, and good luck with the rest as it keeps defaulting to the London address.

The new requirement is on the top right of the form and you have to sign below the image

So, my understanding on that link is that for tourist visas for most of us, there is no change

Here is the link to the VFS website where it states the new size of photo required.

Not really bothered re photos as some photo booths give a choice of size and format etc,(I have in the past taken my own at home and printed them myself with no problems) but certainly a problem for anyone not on line or computer literate if all applications have to be made, or downloaded, on line.
Also noticed a bit further down re anyone without referees in india, not sure if this is a change or not, having always used the travel company and hotel as referees.

Indian tourist board motto (perhaps!)

"why make life difficult, when with a bit of extra effort you could make it impossible?"
