Franny1954, that's terrible. How inconvenient and expensive for you. Luckily we got ours back today and they are fine. We live in N.Ireland so if ours had been wrong there's no way we'd be able to go to Hayes.
I wonder will they compensate you in any way for their mistake? I suspect not.
Good luck with it. I hope you get it sorted.
Gail
First, they had to be taken in person we were told as far too complicated to try to get them to understand over the phone what the mistake THEY made was.(sorry for the inconvenience mam) Arrived about 1.00pm almighty shock it was packed. The little man on the desk got us a ticket & said we were next in the queue.sigh of relief. After a little dither the person seeing to us understood the problem,he said (sorry for the inconvenience mam)the girls do look alike erm hello!!! they are sisters. He was trying to send us back home (Liverpool, not just down the road)to get the girls to sign the forms again because the commissioner wouldn't accept what we had. Finally after a bit of fuss let us use a computer to fill in the forms (they gave us the original forms to copy from)for the girls. He was then very helpful & took the passports from us & yes I do have the passport nos:gave us his name,e-mail address & telephone no;so when we got back the girls could sign a duplicate form & e-mail them to him.Well everything has been done,I will send him another e-mail to see he got the info & I will ring him tomorrow.Today was a very expensive & exhausting day,PLEASE let them get it right.Oh by the way they will pay the courier.(very kind of them)Hopefully early nxt week we should have them back.Fingers crossed for me please XXX
Well still no joy, after the hectic day Thursday,I had quite a few phone calls Friday, still wanting even more info from me.Well all this was done & today it says processed & handed to dx.I still cant find any information on the tracking site .but fingers are still crossed.I just cant believe that they made the mistake & I'm still waiting.
Hi Franny, both Danny and I feel for you. We are not going untill 15 april.Ours went in 2 weeks ago and I am begining to feel anxious even now. Hope everthing goes well. Dee.
Thanks Dee,I just hope it gets sorted for us.Keep checking the dx but still nothing showing.I'm sure you will get yours back soon & all correct.I will keep you informed on my dilemma XX
I filled ou the wifes application online, went through the procesing ect and then realised I did not put her maiden name in .
Is it ok if i just restart the whole process as a seperate application
Was thinking of just leaving it but we have had visas in the past and i would presume they still have our data stored
Alsoooo on the printed out forms it says in section H address of place of stay.
This info piece was definatly not on the online form when filling it in and then after printing out it appears.
Is this because I have had visas in the past and so does not require attention or is it a glitch in the system ??
Thanks to any one who can help
Well the latest news is they are due to be delivered tomorrow ,no sleep tonight then. You will all hear the screams of relief when we have them back in our hands & correct.Watch this space.
See you over there

Jane I certainly will do & your's will be here before you know it XX
We got our visas today. I know we dont travel untill 15 of April but it is one less thing to worry about.Dee and Danny
Dee so glad you have them back safe & sound, just your holiday to look forward to now XX
we always get ours way in advance.
And all tourists visas don't last for 6 months.
Some people have been given a 3 month one (even though they'd requested a 6 month one) and if they apply well in advance, they might find that their visa has expired before their holiday date.
tammie
I've got 8 visas in my passport and the process is exactly the same for me as it is for someone who has never visited before.
One of the big problems is that you don't know for sure if you are going to be issued with a 6 month or 3 month visa.
And I've heard (so far unsubstantiated) rumours that 3 month visas are going to be the norm for next season.
The rules for visas are changed, often with very little notice, so it's wise not to apply too far in advance.
The best thing you can do is keep up to date with what's happening visa-wise on here and other holiday specific fora.
