Hi Dragon....I thought you would know that one!!!!
Treeney -x-
How far in advance can i apply for visa?
Goangirl i would apply about 1 month before.
The six month one starts from the day it is issued so if it is issued on 1st July it is valid until 1st January but you can apply for it now if you only want to use it say in November.
12 month one - six month in the country - 2 months out and back for the remainder starts from the day you arrive in the country and ends on the day of issue one year hence so if you want to go to Goa from 1st October until 1st April and not use the rest of it you can apply for it now as it will not start until 1st October.
We leave Goa on the 1st Dec 2011 and return on the 31st Jan 2012, is it 2 months or 60 day out of India.
Many Thanks
bonksy

Plus now they want your last Visa number, what Cities you visited in India the last time you were there.
I was thinking of going to meet a friend in Singapore for 2 weeks from Goa but cant do that now.
One good thing is the Visa is still 6months and not the 3 month that was in the newspaper a while ago.
If anything they have made the Visa worse as before you could go to say Thailand from Goa then back to Goa if you told them in advance, now you cant do that.As soon as you are out of India you either have to stay out for 2 months or back to Uk to re apply.
Now you have me confused.com IMHO...??? Like Split i read in the papers that the 2 mth rule is possibly being scrapped...infact probably being scrapped... why should this make it worse? Are we missing something here
Chilly
Is the new price for the 6 month visa £ 41.24, plus whatever the post office recorded delivery is ? Had a quick look at the application form and theres even more bizzare questions on it.....cheers Keith
Have tried the VFS site, but you cannot down load the form.....or at least i can't,Perhaps you know better!!! Paula
We have just got a new business visa last week, and to be honest the form is no more complicated than before. There are a few more questions to answer, last visa number which you just copy from your passport and the other new question is, countries visited in the last 10 years. So you can just put India,Turkey or wherever you have been on holiday. Also you have to sign under where you stick your photo.
And don't forget the Declaration form.
Thanks for the replies,It doesn't sound too brain taxing!! Paula
When you go to the website to fill in the form you can download a copy of it (you don't have to carry on with your application) it is a little different to the one on the next page - not much different but the layout is not the same and a couple of the questions are not there but it does give you an idea of what the questions are.

Sorry. But like i said its just nice still having a 6 month visa.
Something I have just remembered - don't use Firefox for your application or you many get a message which says "This connection is untrusted" - went on to Internet Explorer and it was OK.
